Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

I have finally managed to get through to the download page on the Realtek website, and am currently downloading the current driver.

This is the current transfer rate from Realtek. Pretty diabolical, don't you think? Particularly when you compare the rate to my download speed, shown in the image below (test performed by MySpeed PC). This test was performed whilst the file was downloading.

Footnote: As I submit this thread, it has only completed 33% of the download.

Additional footnote: I have forwarded the details from this post to the Webmaster at Realtek. Will be interesting to see what the reply will be.

Hi Brian,

As I mentioned in my earlier post, I will reply and post back if and when I hear back from them. It could be a long wait, though.

P.S. The download is still continuing, now currently at 86% (at the original time of submitting this post).

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

this didnt work for me... i formated my pc a couple of days ago, installed the original realtek drivers, (i got 4 speakers) did quad, speaker fill.. etc.. i cant get stereo sound from the rear (mp3's) the rear does work.. cuz i can do the testing. im downloading the newest drivers from realtek (2.13) to try them.
using winamp and PC DJ (the only things i care about having on all 4 speakers)
so, i tried also the winamp sorround thing in the playback section of its preferences... i can get some sound in the rear.. but barely

my front panel works perfectly, try checking "disable front panel detection". old cases without hd front panel wont be able to detect the headphones.

I tried it and it does'nt change nothing. My case has the hd audio/azalia intel connector for the MB, and before the driver r2.08 it works perfectly.. I must use R2.07 version and Realtek didn't answer my mails!

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

the chip manufacter of my MB is AMD, but AMD doesn't care 'couse the onboard audio is made by realtek :/ It's an issue of the Reakte drivers, not of the SB or the NB chipset of my MB.

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

u r not getting it... if you buy cable, and your cable provider gives you a sony box to watch cable and it brakes.. will you call sony or your cable provider?

if the front output doesnt work is either something that your case manufacter or motherboard manufacter will fix... not the audio chip manufacter or the port manufacter... all amd can tell you is "use the driver from the website" and indeed, this is all you can do. realtek wont do anything for you, and they dont have to.. they dont get money from you.. they get it from amd and all the other companies they make the chip for.

besides, you have to look for the motherboard brand.. not the chip manufacter. evga, abit, gigabyte, msi.. whatever.

That's differeent. This is NOT an hardware problem but ony crappy drivers made by Realtek and I'm not the only one of the world with this problem. And it's not a isseu of my case, the front panel works perfectly with other devices and the R2.07 drivers. AMD or sapphire can do something only if it is an hardware isseu.

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

this is exactly what i wanted to apoint, look at the realtek page for driver download
"Audio drivers available for download from the Realtek website are general drivers for our audio ICs, and may not offer the customizations made by your system/motherboard manufacturer. To be sure you obtain the full features/customizations provided in your original audio product, please download the latest drivers from your system/motherboard manufacturer's website."

basically, if their drivers doesnt work with you, is not their problem, if your manufacter's website drivers doesnt work, its your manufacter driver.
remember this: they didnt made the driver for you.
this is kinda the same issue i have with my MSI nvidia videocard. if i use the latest nvidia drivers my shader clock will go down.. i can only use the msi drivers if i want my video card to be as fast as possible. (i got a 8600gt overclocked by msi)

in any case go to your motherboard website (amd might have made the chipset.. but who is the motherboard manufacturer?)

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

"Customizations" is not an excuse if with the old drivers all works fine and then they break something. "Customizations" can only be a true excuse when manufacturers change something at the hardware level (like new features).
The manufacturers of mainboards use the same drivers by realtek (99%), they only take them and upload on their own website or in a package with installshield or folder archive like rar, zip or 7zip. My MB website, sapphire.com, does'nt upload new drivers since one year or two for my MB. Fortunately I have a backup of the old drivers on my storage HDD...

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

its not about an excuse... its about their job. its not their duty to make sure your sound card works. thats your manufacters duty. if the driver from sapphire works (even if its old) then you have nothing to baw about.
have you ever heard about: "whats not broken dont fix it?"

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

The manufacture’s duties are to assemble the different chipsets from determinate hardware house/foundry, collect the driver of this chipset into a CD bundle, make the box package and send it to the shops. They didn't develop any new drivers or any upgrade drivers, 'couse it isn't their job. When a manufacture buy a product from an hw house/foundry they buy the relative software support and they only sell the final product to us.
When I buy a GPU I upgrade every month the video drivers downloading them from the chipset manufacture, not from the packing manufactures, ‘couse they didn't compile any drivers, in the best way they just upload on their sitefrom the chipset manufacture’s drivers. The packing/assembling manufacture can only help the consumer if he has hardware issue... If you ask them to fix a software issue they say you to send a mail to the chipset manufacture.
I'm not annoying with Sapphire (for example they make for me a new mainboard BIOS in a month.... PC-A9RD580 + 4GB DDR400 + Memory Hole = only 3.4GB on vista 64?!? - VGA Forums), I'm annoying with Realtek, it's Realtek duty to develop the drivers for who buy it's ["it's" is correct? I'm not a grammar genius ^_^'] audio chipsets.. it doesn't care who is the final buyer (consumers, private firms or assembling/packing manufactures), since July they didn't make correctly a part of their job... "Customizations excuse" (with a non modified Realtek chipset) can be only if there're any conflicts with other dedicated audio devices (and it isn't my case)... Have u thought about Windows Update? How many people use Windows Update to up-to-date their drivers? I think a 90-95% use it. On Windows update periodically Microsoft upload new drivers and those drivers come from the official package of the chipsets' manufacture (yes, they upload just the basic drivers, they change or add a new WHQL sign, but at Microsoft didn't recompile the binaries and they didn't try every supported hardware in their labs).

OK, my sermon is ended... if u didn't understand my crappy English.. just forgot about my post :p

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

how bout this... my front panel work perfectly and im using the latest driver from the realtek site. my board was made by asus. if you are using the same one as me, with (suposely) the same realtek chip.. then who is fault? realtek who made the chip, or sapphire who builded the board, solder it and did w/e they need to do to make it work?
in any case nobody asked you to use the latest drivers from realtek, but the one from the manufacters website.

windows update? i never, NEVER updated a driver from microsoft (and dont know any1 who did it) if i get updates for their software from windows update thats a lot, but i will never authorize microsoft to give me drivers.. **** them..i dont need their signature or anything if my driver works.. infact.. i dont even need to update my driver unless it has an issue...
if it works... why would i repair it?

Your MB (M3N-H/HDMI) has a ALC 1200 audio chipset, my MB (PC-A9RD580) has an ALC 880 as audio chipset

I keep the driver up-to-date 'couse a new driver version didn't almost bring only support for a new device model, they mostly bring fix and in same cases a performance boost or a new features. In the worst case a update drivers shouldn't change nothing, not bring a issues. If it bring a issues, specially a issue independently form an application, it means that this driver are pure crap.

PS: good luck with ASUS :rotfl: (3 dead MB, 1 dead wireless PCI card, 1 TV tuner without signed x64 drivers even if they should it be..)
