Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

the whole driver thing confuses me when it comes to this. looking at my properties it says i have 6.0.1.5473 this most recent or?

the problem im having is that i get pop ups when im playing a game with my headphones. if someone speaks very loudly on ventrilo for example it will minimilize the game and a pop up will say i have disconnected a plugin. also my front port is always highlighted pink even when my mic isnt connected. any ideas/suggestions. thank you

Hello Biertonco,

It should have 6.0.1.5730 as the version number in Device Manager for the latest 2.08 driver.

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

Thanks for the head up about R2.09, Shawn. The first run of the installation program uninstalled the current driver, as expected. I then restarted when prompted. Windows then proceeded to reinstall the basic driver that came with Vista (again, this was expected). However, on running the R2.09 installer again, it kept saying that the driver was already installed, except that I knew that it hadn't. To overcome this, I installed R2.09 directly via the 'Device Manager'. This needed to be carried out with administrative credentials. See the following Tutorial: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html#post890914

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

Hi,

After reading this thread (took about 203467 hours!!) I'm still not 100% on how to fix my problem, as it appears to be a similar problem to all here.

I have Vista Ultimate 64bit, with Realtek onboard sound on my mother board. However, my Quadraphonic speakers don't seem to be working as I can only get sound to come out of my front two speakers when in WMP etc. sometimes when I go into control panel, I can get sound coming out of all 4 speakers, but sometimes it doesn't happen. After reading this thread I have done the following:

1) Downloaded and installed the latest driver 2.08 (installed twice, forst time to remove old driver, next time to install new driver). My driver cersion is currently 6.0.1.5730.
2) Since installing the new driver, I have lost the Realtek icon in my control panel.

To be honest, I've used up all my, er, knowledge, does anyone have any ideas I can try?

Many thanks,

Maj

Anyone have any ideas on this problem, any help would be much appreciated!

Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

How about completely uninstalling the audio driver, using a registry cleaner if you have one and then try installing again. In other words, you're trying to replicate a "clean" install.

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

I'm very new to computers. I recently bought new speakers for my Vista 64bit operation system. And i can only seem to get 2.1 sound. The speakers that i have are ''Logitech x-530 speakers. I have been doing reacherch on the internet with no problem solved. The one thing i did read was i had to enable and check the 'Speaker Fill' button on Realtek Hd Audio Manager... But i can't find the Speaker Fill option. If anybody could help me achive 5.1 sound it would be greatley appreciated :)

Thanks you

Hello Knothead,

I believe you are looking at the Realtek AC'97 audio drivers at the bottom of the 1st post and not the Realtek HD Audio drivers at the top of the 1st post. ;)

Hope this helps,
