Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

Hi,

After reading this thread (took about 203467 hours!!) I'm still not 100% on how to fix my problem, as it appears to be a similar problem to all here.

I have Vista Ultimate 64bit, with Realtek onboard sound on my mother board. However, my Quadraphonic speakers don't seem to be working as I can only get sound to come out of my front two speakers when in WMP etc. sometimes when I go into control panel, I can get sound coming out of all 4 speakers, but sometimes it doesn't happen. After reading this thread I have done the following:

1) Downloaded and installed the latest driver 2.08 (installed twice, forst time to remove old driver, next time to install new driver). My driver cersion is currently 6.0.1.5730.
2) Since installing the new driver, I have lost the Realtek icon in my control panel.

To be honest, I've used up all my, er, knowledge, does anyone have any ideas I can try?

Many thanks,

Maj

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

Hello,

I've been having a weird issue for a couple days now. Ever since I updated my Nvidia GeForce drivers to 178.24 (from 178.13), my sound volume seems to drop down at times, but when I check the volume control and volume for all devices, they're still all at 100%. I've tried downgrading both the Nvidia drivers and the Realtek HD drivers, but nothing seems to help. Anyone have any ideas? Do you think it could be speaker related? If so, why did it only seem to happen after installing those Nvidia drivers? Also, is there any way to log or debug sound issues? Would help a great deal.

I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit and the latest Realtek/Nvidia drivers.

Thanks in advance!

Yes I do, do you think this would be because of the speakers?

I don't really know if that would cause your issue but its worth a try in trouble shooting.

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

Hello everybody.

I read through the pages from 30 onwards. Without any sucess, I decided to register on this nice user friendly forums, as I see.

So, my problem is, as many before, my mic doen't work properly. It records some sound, like tapping on it with my finger will make some noise, but when i talk, its extra quiet, almost equal to nothing, but it's there.

I installed the codecs 5 minutes ago, HD drivers 9 hrs ago, and after installing drivers, i saw mine ALC1200 codec wasnt on the list at the first page of this topic. Anyways, even after Deleting, rebooting, installing, rebooting, there is no problems hearing sounds, and it doesn't cause any mismatches/errors on the HD drivers (2.07)

I tried everything, unmuting, maxing out the input, bossting, played with all the options avaliable. My advanced setting on Rltk HD AM for recording was to separate all jacks, and i disabled my front panel (wich i dont use) I use the pink jack for mic.

Help much appreciated,

Arne

Problem got solved by itself. At a random reboot, mic started working...Today my brother put speakers in green jack and let the mic in in the pink one, when i plugged headphones back in, i can hear normally, but the problem is same as above. I've reinstalled R207 (i wont even bother dling r208 at 2kbs), rebooted 6 times, nothing so far...and i've set all the parametres as i had before when it worked.

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

Hey Arnoldio,

Don't feel too bad about it. We are all guilty of overlooking the obvious (myself certainly included). I am sure that your comments (and others both in this thread and elsewhere on the forums) will help and assist others who have problems. For my part, I thought that I had lost my system sounds when I installed R2.08. I even reinstalled Vista (was going to do this anyway when installing my new HDDs). I tried every combination that I could think of in the Realtek HD Audio Manager apart from the one that mattered - 'Loudness Equalization'. Once enabled, I could hear the system sounds again (they were there without this enabled, but were extremely faint).

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

The only way I can get sound out of the rear speakers is to select one of the environment settings, from the drop down. I have also selected 7.1 surround sound using only the front and rear jacks.

The Environment setting doesn't do anything when in Quadrophonic mode.

The environment settings sound like crap though, too much reverberation. Reminds me of the effects that the sound blaster live would give you.
