Latest NVIDIA ForceWare Video Drivers

Update #1:

D/L'd and installed 182.50 ... BSOD, Restart in safe mode, grabbed a screenshot ...

Drivers.jpg

Looking at this information, I would think everything was OK. Going to try a reboot and see what happens.

Update #2:

Reboot = Fail Another BSOD ... I know my video card works with Vista HP, it was working just fine on Friday morning. Was playing some TF2, the game (and computer) locked up. Had to power it down and thats when all hell broke loose. Now, after a reformat and a clean install of Vista and all updates, it doesn't work? . Might try the drivers prior to 182.50, see if that works. I'll try to give an update after.

Update #3: 182.08 - Failed Will try 178.13

Fianl update for now: 178.13 failed. Will uninstall drivers, pull the video card and use integrated nvidia 6150 until a solution is found.

Hmmm, so it's clearly not a driver issue, as you checked several versions of them and you still receive BSOD. My guess is that there might be something wrong with your GPU... :( I'm not a master engineering technician magician so might as well be wrong...

sigh:....... whats going on, i just chucked on 185.66 :(

what gets me is, if you check the release notes there's always a 10% or so increase in warhead :sarc:, they've been listing that game for god knows how long..... so there should be a 200% improvement in warhead by now..?? :p

They've changed it recently. All performance increases are with AA enabled, and with these beta drivers, it's performance over the 182.xx drivers with AA enabled.

If you look at the current WHQL drivers, Warhead isn't listed in the AA performance increase over 182.22 ;)

But I know where you're coming from. I might give these drivers a run and see if I do get all these increases :p

I'm back ... sorry to keep posting, but I had this crazy idea ... as you see in the screenshot below, the device manager thinks I have 2 video cards (at least it looks that way to me), do I need to install drivers for both or no? If so, how would I do it? Also, is it possible that my pci-e slot is bad? Nah, if it was, how would it recognize the card as seen in the screenshot? Well, thats all I can think of atm. Thanks

You do have two video cards in theory. And when you install a driver on a computer with multiple cards, it automatically installs it for both.

Are you using Driver cleaner to uninstall old drivers?? With the plethora of drivers tried, more chance for a stuff up of old files left behind!

I see what you're saying ... and now that I think of it, when I originally installed the card, I only installed drivers one time. :( Thanks

Now that you mention it, I do remember reading something somewhere about a driver cleaner. I don't have one installed atm. Are they free? Any suggestions for a good one? Thanks

You do only need to install a driver once is what I mean. I have two graphic cards, and when I install a driver. I run it once and it automatically installs it for both in that single installation, so what you've been dong is right.

Just Google Driver Sweeper and download it from Guru3D, for free :)

Install Driver Sweeper and uninstall any drivers you have on at the moment in safe mode and restart.

Boot back in to safe mode and run Driver Sweeper and clean Nvidia -Display.

Once it's cleaned, reboot and boot in to safe mode and try installing drivers again :)

Just installed 185.68 beta drivers. Couldn't install in safe mode, it installed the drivers, but it kept saying it couldn't install the Nvidia Control Panel, so booted in to normal mode and installed there fine.

Although, when it finishes, it doesn't say it needs to restart the PC? I haven't restarted yet but it seems to run fine. Loaded up CSS to test it and it played fine. And I turned SLI back on with no problems, either.

OK ... followed instruction to-the-letter and no success. I have finally accepted the fact that the problem is not drivers but the card itself. Too bad, it was a very nice card, sad to see it go. :( On the bright side, I get a new card! :) Thanks for all the help.

Well, tried to install the card on my friends rig ... same outcome. We tried everything we could think of. And now, there are vertical lines being displayed on the screen during load up, then it goes to BSOD. Anywho, thanks again for all the advice. I'll post when I get a new card. :)

Shame about your card. It's still a half decent card the 7950GX2 by todays standards. Hope you get yourself something nice :)
