Not sure. The release date is current for it, but the download is for the older 9.04.08 version still.

You are right Airbot, there was an update NVidia must have changed naming of physx versions too, like they did before with the GPU naming thing before and confused many users now the confusion spreads not just only on hardware, but on software too just downloaded the file and it's name is 'PhysX_9.04.08_9.09.0408_SystemSoftware' so it seems that the numbers on the page may lead to mistakes, but the file itself clearly states that it is an updated version

no problem but what's more confusing is the version number that the file states to the system after installation I completely uninstalled previous version of physx before installing this update, and after it, the nv properties still reports that the physx's version is 9.09.0203... reinstalled it again, restarted the system... and nothing changed so nvidia seems to confuse their users even further...

Yeah, to echo the others... thank you for taking the time to post this. I had it the day it came out (upgrade for the 285) and I don't have time to go through all the details, but even my wife noticed the difference walking past my office!

If you're installing Vista without SP1 (so when it's finished installing, SP1 isn't installed), then take 2GB of your RAM out so you only have 2GB in while you install Vista. This should most likely fix your issue. It was a known issue pre-SP1.

OK I am back. After a 3 week business trip, I took out 2 Gb RAM and reformatted and reinstalled Vista and did all updates and SP1 and the original MoBo drivers and their newer updates and at the end installed latest WHQL certified Video driver (182.5). Everything running BUT as soon as I try to put Aero in I get BSOD and nvlddmkm.sys error. Even if I try and do a Windows experience score it fails with repeated nvlddmkm.sys failed and restarted.

What the heck is going on! I REALLY need to solve this problem, or it is an ATI card going in!

I'm trying to run 185.68 and I'm getting that blue screen error when I try to watch some movies in full screen. Watched 2 Fast 2 Furious on my PC the other night and it played fine in full screen. Tried to watch Shooter in full screen and the PC blue screened with the same error you're getting.

Umm, the 185.68 is a Beta driver I guess? What happens if you drop down to the WHQL ones?

I have a suspicion that the PhysX may also be part of the problem in my case! I currently have that turned off in the NVIDIA Control Panel.

Dropped down to 182.50 and it all works fine now. I was enjoying using Ambient Occlusion in CSS as well

anyone running new ones?

A lot of the increase in game performance is when AA is enabled.. that is a good sign, as that is a small area where ATI cards are better.

I might have to try these.
