Latest NVIDIA ForceWare Video Drivers

The installer is different, it says it removes the temp driver folder (C:\nvidia) after installation, but it doesnt.

This version running fine for me so far.

If you're installing Vista without SP1 (so when it's finished installing, SP1 isn't installed), then take 2GB of your RAM out so you only have 2GB in while you install Vista. This should most likely fix your issue. It was a known issue pre-SP1.

Report back if it all goes well :)

OK I am back. After a 3 week business trip, I took out 2 Gb RAM and reformatted and reinstalled Vista and did all updates and SP1 and the original MoBo drivers and their newer updates and at the end installed latest WHQL certified Video driver (182.5). Everything running BUT as soon as I try to put Aero in I get BSOD and nvlddmkm.sys error. Even if I try and do a Windows experience score it fails with repeated nvlddmkm.sys failed and restarted.

What the heck is going on! I REALLY need to solve this problem, or it is an ATI card going in!

Kotuku

Well it turns out I had a major fault in my Video card! AT under 1 year old they have of course replaced that. They (shop I bought it from) also reported 'something funny' with one of the 2 Gb Mempry sticks )GSkill) so they have replaced that as well. What a frustrating 3 weeks and a few months before that. I learnt some lessons!

I also bought a new computer!

10 minutes of play time in Crysis: Warhead and it crashes.

vista 64, nvidia 295, i7, the last two driver updates frequently give me "can not find dll" errors. Also, after installing, when I use windows update, it asks to install the same nvidia driver again. Have tried from clean install from back ups etc. etc. and still the same problem. It is all working fine without finding the cpl dll but their must be something wrong. The love hate with vista continues. XP was never this error ridden from simple install for me.

But do you have the image displayed normally or the screen just gets black and the monitor turns itself into standby mode after reboot ?

If it gets into standby mode and if you have 2 monitors attached to your computer (i.e. LCD and TV), it may be because the image is sent to the second monitor/tv. you can ofcourse change that in nvidia control panel. I had the same weird behaviour every time I updated my driver. I had to turn on the tv and set my default monitor again. But since WHQL 182.xx version of the driver it's keeping my monitor setting correctly :)

Hi Shawn. just installed these beta drivers and they seem good.
Just been playing Zeno Clash with everything maxed. Played for about 50 minutes and no problems.
It looked great but I only just got it. I'll try something more familiar later.

Best wishes, John:D

:)

There's a new NVIDIA GeForce driver out on the loose and it's in fact the first series 190 driver ever. This is Forceware 190.15 The driver is available for Windows Vista 32- and 64-bit and for Windows XP a 32-bit flavor is available.
Very little is known about this driver but we need to stress that the original .inf file shows it was targeted at Quadro cards. We replaced the index with a modified .inf files (courtesy of laptopvideo2go) making the driver compatible with all current GeForce cards..
Interesting is that the Vista / Win 7 drivers also contact 3D Stereo drivers revision 190.15, look inside the archive to spot that yourself.
These drivers are to be considered very beta and thus treated as such.

No physx with these drivers !

And Feedback

L4D,seems to run pretty good AA,and AS are working with this driver image qaulity is great
Great drivers. Performances are equal to 186.08 (best performances ever with these on my 8800 GTX), but more stable and colder GPU, IQ is great too. Keepers

Tested so far: prototype, Crysis/WH, GriD, Bioshock, DMC4, LostPlanet Colonies, UT3, World in Conflict, Mirror's Edge, CS Source.

Everything is stable and fast. (Windows 7 Ultimate build 7229 x64)
slow loading textures on prototype going back to 185.68. best for me
Great drivers for me.All games running fast and smooth

Edit;

WOHOO FIXED AA IN EMPIRE TOTAL WAR!!
AoC 30-60fps everything on high/ultra with forced AA at SLI32xQ in DirectX10 mode
The only IQ difference vs. 186.08 I could see comparing screenshots, is that spelldetails are sharper and not so washed out as with the 186.xx sets.
This is the best driver there is now!!

And my index score went from: driver 185.65 :6.0
driver 190.15 :7.4!!! in windows 7!.

My LCD tv sems sharper now! And games runs very smooth! 295GTX!
so far it runs great, but i noticed some big changes...

1. the driver does not show up in the uninstall panel of windows.
2. the change resolution panel changed too, but when i whant to change the res of the second monitor (hdtv) the nvidia app is not responding and i have to kill the panel

luckyli it worked the first time...
3. there is also no uninstall tab or whatever for physx, and it does not show up in the sys info of nvidia panel...but its installed i guess cause i can disable or enable it in the panel...lol

did something went wrong?? or am i the only one?!?!?
;););)
