Latest NVIDIA ForceWare Video Drivers

That makes two of us then. I had my CPU oc'ed thanks to a friend that kinda took me by the hand and helped me with it. My hard drive died about a month ago and I had to RMA it. Being the PC-Challenged guy, I reverted my Bios to its default state thinking this was causing my HDD issues and now, after reading plenty of forums, I am even more confused about trying to oc my cpu than I was before

I wish Nvidia would make an Ntune software capable of automatically adjusting itself when you want to OC your rig... now that would be the coolest thing for PC-Challenged people!

Im really confused. If I already have installed the best video driver from Nvidia , or if exist some better driver for me? After reading in this forum I tried to install the newest driver from Nvidia (for my video card type and OS , of course) , but it was unsuccesfull. What I need to do ?
I tried this because I want to increase (if possible ) my Windows experience index base score for graphics(it is 3,6 only) . Is it posiible to do somethig for this? Can I increase WEIB score with better driver that I already have? Or no ?

You have to get your graphics card drivers directly from your notebook manufacturer.

Or you can get the latest modded Nvidia laptop drivers from laptopvideo2go.com

This is taken from laptopvideo2go:

Official NV site drivers (to be specific: only the INF) does not support any mobile GPUs (exceptions occur). All the dirty work has to be done by OEMs.

It all looks normal but the loading bar zooms through hell quick and it then tells me that my system hasn't been modified.

HELP Those FPS increases look really good and i cant get them!!

Hi Matt,

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode and uninstalling the current video driver (NVIDIA Drivers and NVIDIA PhysX v####) , then boot back into normal mode and install the new 178.13 drivers from within an administrator account?

Did you uninstall your current version and reboot first?

I uninstall it and then run driver cleaner.net to remove all traces of Nvidia (I have done this for a while so it isn't doing damage), i then reboot and it still doesn't let me install.

I know Matt, but are you sure you are using the correct 32 bit driver version for your 32 bit Vista and not the 64 bit version? It happens.

Could you post the exact error message you get when trying to install it?

Yeah when i first started using Vista i tried to install an XP display driver luckily Nvidia had the foresight to make the installer check the version of windows before it installed so no drama there.

Here it is... It seems strange that everyone else has no problems and then i have all the problems.

It is probably worth mentioning i have had problem with previous drivers not wanting to install however they magically worked after many attempts.

I'm sorry if i confused you but if you look closely at the picture it tells you that the driver has not installed.

HAHA and yeah. At the time i didn't have the net at home so i downloaded it on someone else's computer and they were running XP so the Nvidia site auto-selected XP when i should have noticed and changed it to Vista.

I just downloaded the 64bit drivers for it.. yet I've still not changed to the 178.13 either.. lol.

I'll give these .24's a try as they are slightly smaller than the last.. Less bloatware. We'll see.

If anyone tries them, please post results.

Hi Gunther, I've been on the .13s since they came out and I think they're really good. These .24s would have to be better yet to make me change and the speeds posted are the same comparison in terms of 15% in Bioshock etc. J
