They draw air in from the back. It's the same with my 8800GTS 512s, there's an opening to the rear of the cards and the fans draw air in through there.

Im hoping to update my rig soon, thought id post in this thread (ill get images of my current setup soon). I want to get another 8800GT and a better motherboard so i can use sli and 8gb ram. :D

Have you considered just buying a new graphics card?
The performance of sli on an 8800gt and motherboard over the cost of a newer card may make a difference.

Well i already have an 8800GT and a 4850 so my options are:

8800GT SLI - SLI mobo
4850 CF - CF mobo
Single 4850

I suppose i could sell both cards and get a better graphics card, but i really dunno as of yet.

My Computer

Grim, what are you going to do with the 780 board?

HOW do they breathe... If I look at it, the fans seem to be closed off, for example the fan from the middle card... Where does it suck its air from? How did you like the 9800GTX's?:)

Amplid

i'll keep the 780i till Jan, then sell it for the evga 790i ultra, or X58.
I miss my 9800GTX...they were great cards, and the clocks speeds were higher then what i have now, but there's pros and cons to everything, you know?:)
The design from the cpu fan sucks up air from the base, then expels it out on top flowing heat out through the rear case fan.

Clean out my econo box in the week end and took some pics to share.

I built the table so I will have plenty of leg room. The sub is at the bottom left corner.

Removed gpus to blow out the dust factory.

Sorry for a bad example of wiring management. But there is not much I can do with this case.

Little mod on the front turns the drive bays into a fan.

Lol Freelancer I see you're a Harry Potter fan(can recognize those books from a mile away:p). I've just had my oral (haha...:sarc:) examination of english and I was allowed to review Harry Potter 4:D Man I'm gonna have like 90 percent on that:p Yah I couldn't stand such a small desk either, but if it works for ya...

Bruce, it looks nice, that's a good trick with the front fan...:p Maybe try drilling a hole in your mobo tray so you can hide the cables on the other side of it...?

Cheers,

Scroll? You mean the blurred out display cabinet glass? I honestly can't tell you due to legality reasons, I'm rather paranoid when it comes to who see's what's in that cabinet...

New guy with new box. Just loaded Vista 64 on it yesterday, Asus P5E, Intel Wolfdale E8400, 4GB (soon to be 8GB) ram, BFG GTX260, 2 X 250GB SATA in a RAID 0, replaced my old gaming box which couldn't play Crysis
The monitor I've had for years, still gets the job done, can't afford a good LCD for gaming yet.

I like the simple case that no one suspects. It has fans everywhere, and was a breeze to set up.

My first build...and current rig...built 2 more since for the family...this is now an obsession! I wish I could do this for a living!

@ dave, nice setup there antec 1200 gtx 260.. One thing I don't understand though, how can you afford a GTX260 and 1200 and mobo and ram, if you can't afford an lcd?:p:s Here in europa they're much cheaper and there's a 22inch from samsung for 170 euros...:p (no offence, just wondering;))

@ Can't see much difference, but always thought you're setup looked great!:p

@Stevie, I have a coolermaster as well, with two side fans (one with blue LED's), one rear and one in the front (also with blue LED's) and you gotta love this case, seriously! It looks great, has supreme cable management options and it's CHEAP! Am I right, or am I right?:p Now I have one question: I've got the two side fans blowing in (obviously...:p) rear blowing out and front blowing in. If I were to install two fans on the top (or one..) wouldn't that interfere in my case's natural airflow from front (low) to back (high)... The air blown in by the fan over the cpu heatsink would be sucked away by the top fan over the cpu heatsink before it can be effective, wouldn't it? (Kinda understanding what I'm gettin at here...?:p)
Stevie, one hint for your cable management (if you've got the time for it one day). You'll notice that there's a hole near the PSU in the mobo tray.. Try leading the CPU wire, 24 pin and, well as many cables as possible, through there and hide them on the back of your mobo tray, it's easy and helps airflow a lot+ looks better coz you can't see all the wires...:)

Cheers,

Amplid

Edit: Building systems is greaaaat!!:p I've done two and one more coming up for a friend:D I'll post pics when it's done (sometime in the holidays!)
