My job was a first time effort as well - I just did what I could, but I have seen some other builds since then and have found a couple of new ideas I am going to implement next time I have to open up the case - just go with what you got and don't try to re-invent the wheel.

Unless, of course, you really *feel* like reinventing the wheel....

I have the same Case, and it's actually lifted about an Inch and a half from the ground.. if you didn't notice in that last picture he posted..

It's a really good case. I have that bottom fan as an input fan and it sucks plenty of air with the little gap it has, then again I have a great fan there..

Looks very good oldsalt.. Nice choice. I like the case a lot so far also, only complains would be the I/O ports on top seem cheap.. but most do. next case will be a CM Cosmos tho. I like ur setup there, what cooler did you get for your CPU.. and now ur only task left is some Cable Management.. This case is Great for that.. as look at mine inside..

Thats it basically finished.. although that picture doesn't have the G-Skill ram, and doesn't have the new fans on rear, side, and the sweet bottom fan... also I reseated the Tuniq a little better.. but overall that pic shows my cable management.. better for airflow sir..

get in there and clean it up.. lol. you don't HAVE to tho.. but it's nice when complete

Fair one, from the first picture it looks like the case sits directly on the table. I still stand by what I said though, if you have a fan under the computer use two brackets to fit it to the wall, it will give you a lot more intake (with out the dust from your table) and give you more table space.

Whatever gets you by.. my old HP system was like that. had a AMD X@ 3800+ 2.0 and I upgraded it to a 5400+ 2.8GHz.. and from 1GB to 4GB and that made the biggest difference.. and the 8600GT of course.. but now thats all gone and say hello to my new freind... not little tho. lol.

Question, is ur system an HP.. and also do you kno if ur system is running Dual Channel RAM, if it's anything somewhat new.. then it probably is.. and usin one 1GB stick and 3x512's is probably not the best idea.. cuz it's not operating Dual Channel and indeed making it Run slower.. I could be wrong but did the system come with 1GB ram using 2x512's, and you added the other 1GB later...? or no. Running with 2 and a half GB of RAM is probably not the best for performance or stability.. if I were you, I'd completely take all sticks out.. and put 2x1GB RAM in there.. something like that, a 2GB pack of good ram is going to be like $35 bucks and in Dual channel would Most likely perform better than what you got now.. or even go 2x2 for a total of 4GB for pretty cheap also.

that board Supports PC 4200 (533 MHz) and PC2 5300 (667 MHz)

Not sure if you wanted an upgrade, but after seein what RAM ur using, and how. this would be better performance.. Just thought I'd share..

Don't worry too much about it, Amplid. Your cable management looks good. The key is to ensure that the fans are not obstructed in anyway, which is exactly what you have done. Good job!

Don't worry too much about it, Amplid. Your cable management looks good. The key is to ensure that the fans are not obstructed in anyway, which is exactly what you have done. Good job!

I totally agree with the above post. One thing to note for future builds is to try and fit any spare/unused cables in a unused drive bay. I tend to go for a drive bay near the top if the psu is at the top of the case and tie wrap the cables in place. You may notice on some cases there is small resesses. These are ideal to fit tiewraps to so the cables are locked into place. The only drawback from this is if you need to change anything.

The audio and case cables may fit under your motherboard hiding them compleatley. This looks good but will also have the drawback I mentioned above about changing anything.

I was just cleaning up my PC and found some pictures of my other 'rig'.

Details:

- Some IBM Netvista I bought for $20 at a garage sale a couple years ago (I think its a celeron 1ghz, its been too long since I've checked)
- XP SP2, massively stripped down
- Microsoft GPS receiver (rebranded Phroas receiver), came with Streets & Trips
- GPS software is iGuidance
- Frondend software is RoadRunner (runs as shell)
- Uses a 4GB CF card for Mp3/video storage
- Bluetooth integration into the car stereo with my cell phone (custom software I wrote myself), pops up caller-id on screen etc..
- 7" Lilliput touch screen (VGA)
- Cordless Logitec Wingman (for games)
- Case is a 1998 Nissan Maxima SE

wow, thats actually pretty cool, not bad not bad. I just got a new steroe in my Truck. thats next in line, to get a Bluetooth setup so I can have it all wireless..the Deck has bluetooth ready setup with Microphone on front. so I just need to get the $150 add-on and I'll be good. It's a great addition when you live in vegas, as driving and talking on the phone is very unsafe.. everywhere. but even more here with the crazy raods and drivers.

just my little HTPC rig. A self build jobbie, with Vista 64 on it, and a nice little 5.1 audio set up, hooked up to a Sony amp.

Thinking of putting my old 26" samsung lcd on as well and having a dual monitor set up. Never tried that before, so gonna see how it goes.

wow not bad at all there grim.. I like it. I see you have SLI 9800GTX's. Nice.
What do you think about these new 9800GTX+ cards comin out in a few weeks.?? I have a feelin they are going to be pretty good GPU's. They are going to be smaller 55nm and faster Core clock of 735 or something like that.. They are more than just an OC'd 9800GTX. I think that might be what I'm getting here soon, that price tag of $229 looks pretty good to me. Even better when that happens sometime early July the original 9800GTX like yours will be $199 and then you can get one and go TRI SLI..

I was all good til now I don't kno what to get with all these new goods.. I'm a waitin to see the rest from Nvidia and ATI for the next month. but I for sure wanna get rid of my G80 8800 GTS 640 sooon

These GPU's are not the base model of BFG's 9800GTX...these are the OC Extreme
Specs on my BFG GeForce 9800GTX OCX is
Chipset @(755Mhz)
Shader Clock @(1890Mhz)
512MB GDDR3 @(2300Mhz)
these are factory OC extreme speeds, and they destroy my previous BFG 's 8800 GTX OCII I had in SLi also...damn
Runs much cooler, faster, quieter, and visually appealing
To be honest, I want another one for TRI SLi, but my damn case is tight for space...and I would have much difficulty installing my 5.25" LCD media card/fan reader.
I did take a look @ those GeForce 200 series GPU's and I think I'll wait till Sept...I just love my 9800GTX OCX
Flawless performance playing Crysis, Gears of War, Call of Duty 4.
