Ok thanks, so what I do is. Go into control panel and uninstall the nvidia drivers program and everything else that says nvida? Then reboot into safe mode double click the exe and it will scan and tell me what needs to be deleted?

Yep. But install driver sweeper before rebooting into safe mode.

When in safe mode, right click the driver sweeper icon and 'run as admin' - otherwise it may not always delete everything.

make sure you only select the nvidia components before you 'clean'.
After I do that, do I install the drivers in safe mode? or can I reboot and install in normal mode? Sorry I am asking now :p

Same as the 285 I believe. 550w and 40A

Once Driver Sweeper has done it's job, reboot normally and then install the drivers.

just get the biggest , best modular psu you can afford , stick with a well known name , do some research if its anygood somebody will have tested it already , DONT go below 550W (higher is better for future incase you want to go SLI or add another 62 hard drives) for 260 and 600w for anything else

there is plenty of advice out there especially for PSU's

you'll be here forever getting differant suggestions , just buy the best and you cant go wrong.

When I uninstall the drivers, can I install the new card, then boot into safe mode and delete the old card's drivers? Or do I have to uninstall the old drivers with the old card? And also when I update the drivers for my new card, do I have to uninstall the old version, then install the newer version? I don't think so but I want to be sure.

Sorry I have so many questions, I'm new at this stuff :p

You uninstall and clean with your current card in place.

After you run driver sweeper in safe mode, Shut down and swap the cards. Then start normally and install the new drivers for your new card.

I knew there was a step I was missing :D

I have Seasonic 700W 80plus for 2 years now.
My pc never shutdown for 2 years, working full time with 3 hard disk, dvd writer,4 big fan,ati radeon 4870,corsair dominator with 3 minifan, downloading 24hours per day, gaming, working, never stop never sleep never shutdown.
Plus the last 2 years the electric company cut out 5-6 times the power without warning, the psu is still working like a charm,no noise no problem.
Seasonic is one of the best and most durable psu in the world.

The 275 requires 40 amps, so when I am looking for power supplies does one 12v rail need to have 40 amps? Or do I add all the rails together?

it doesnt matter it may have 4 12v rails with 12a on each thats fine , you can run your gpu of one rail exclsively

dont get confused , no gpu needs a 40amp supply , thats not how how a psu works its a measure of its ability to supply a clean uninterupted voltage to your hardware , if every pc took 40 amps it wolud have to wired in 10mm cable and would cost 250 quid an hour to run ;)

do a little research on poer supplies/how they work etc
