Sorry Dinesh, but your board doesn't have a Realtek HD audio chip.

hi all,

just tried these latest drivers, and it doesnt fix my problem....
there's no constant static noise , but rather everytime a sound plays (load/exit windows, music, movie, whatever) there's this horrible crackle/static noise instead of what the sound should be. i've also tried the drivers from the asus site. same problem. any ideas? thanks!

Ibrahim,

i've tried using headphones, same problem! the latest drivers from realtek dont help, even the ones from asus dont work, and i'm not willing to spend on a soundcard, so i guess its back to xp!? *sigh....

My Computer

Is there sound and the crackle noise or JUST the crackle noise?

Have you tried using a driver cleaner when installing? It's helped me in a fair bit of issues:

Hi Guys some help please!!!!!!!!

I cannot get the Realtek HD Audio Manager software to work with my 5.1 channel amplifier cards, however it does work with the generic drivers that vista automatically installs. But I want to use the Realtek HD Audio Manager software?

I am using the following:
MSI Media Live DIVA 5.1 motherboard (5.1 channel 100W amplifier card)
Windows Vista ultimate 32bit
Jamo A102HCS5 5.1 Speaker Package 500W

First I stalled the drivers to remove the previous drivers then when the PC restarts windows automatically detects the card and installs generic drivers, there is no way to cancel/stop them installing. I think these drivers are causing the problem.

Then after I install the Realtek drivers if I go to control panel --> Sound - I have a 3 high definition audio devices to choose from, if I set the Realtek high definition audio device to be the default they do not produce any sound. Only the high definition audio device drivers that were automatically install work but only in stereo.

So am I stuck with the generic vista drivers (stereo only)?
Can I get the HD Audio Manager software to work with the vista drivers?
Will I have the same problem if I chance to windows 7?

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

How exactly are you doing this? the problem is.. I have no front "jacks" that i can use. But on XP... it was able to detect if i had a headphone or what... Is there a way i can manually ASSIGN what i have installed?

I cant see if you have found anything for this. But i have found where in the registry this is assigned.

Realtek HD Changing Jack output reassignments ( FIX ) - Windows 7 Forums

Though it doesnt work for me it seems. I want to change FL/FR backside jack(dont have a front) to headphone. I did that in XP because it seemed like it fed more juice to the jack then, giving a better volume(its ridiculous now). This should change it manually, but it doesnt give me a boost unfortunately.

This bugs the **** out of me, its almost like if Microsoft had made the software.

My Computer

Hey Everyone,

I'm not sure if this has been asked before (and sorry if it has >_>; )but is there a way to reverse the cancellation of a microphone of a headset? (I always remember it being a problem that the mic was on, but now I want it to be on so I can hear myself through the headphones (Yes I love the sound of my voice that much :P) and I can't find a setting anywhere.) I've tried muting and unmuting the mic in Sound (which I remember I used to do using XP) and also in the Realtek HD's own programme that shows up in Control Panel.

My mind has apparently melted...I can't ask questions properly anymore xD Well hopefully someone understood all that and can help xD

I'm attempting to use the S/PDIF coax audio out on my Gigabyte motherboard attached to my 5.1 surround sound receiver. With this connection I am only able to output in Prologic (DVDs and games).

I have the Realtek drivers version 2.23 installed properly as well.

Here's what I see:

Nothing too exciting here. No real options to play with.

As for Windows...

It will show both rear digital outputs regardless of which is actually in use.

This shows what I get the best sound results with. The only encoding that gives me audio during the test is Dolby Digital (when the test is in progress, my receiver recognized the 5.1 and plays each audio signal in a different speaker properly). Also, I use 44.1 kHz as I have an older receiver.

Here you can see that I only have the option for 2 channel audio. I'm not sure if this is normal when using a digital audio output.

*The who hidden check boxes about the exclusive control are currently both checked though I've tried it both ways.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey there,

After buying my Dell Inspiron 530 9 months ago, I've been really happy with it up until this week. The sound started flaking out (distortion, fading, failing) so I called Dell support who provided me with a driver (r180772, created Tuesday, July 29, 2008). I'm hoping you might have some suggestions.

The default install location was c:\dell\drivers. However, I noticed that there is another directory c:\drivers\audio. Which one does the driver actually get installed in?

Unfortunately, installing the driver didn't actually fix the problem. Dell is telling me that I need a new mother board. We did all the usual troubleshooting - a restore to a previous version that worked, plugging devices into front headphone ports, etc. And nothing seems to fix it. But I thought I'd try downloading the driver from the site in your link to see if that might work, since the driver I got from the Dell site isn't current.

My download manager says that it's going to take 3 hours to download. None of the drivers I've downloaded from the Dell site took that long. In fact, I've never gotten that sort of response to a download since I did away with my dial up and went to DSL. Is that 'normal'?

Thanks.

Hi Brink,

Yes, I saw the link at the top of the forum. I asked the question about the
driver location on my system. Which is the correct location?

The driver from RealTek shows a download time of 3 hours whenever I choose
it. I've tried to get it twice and both times, there is a problem with the file and
it won't extract. This is using the link at the top of the forum.

Thanks.

Hello Datgrl,

Usually when there is a new driver release, their servers get overwhelmed the first couple of days. You might try downloading it again from either the 1, 2, or 3 location to see which one may download faster from.

If you do not have a problem extracting from any other ZIP file, then the download may have been incomplete or had gotten corrupted.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
