It works on my 32 bit Vista Home Premium.

Great for creating your own wallpapers. Once you get the image you want just switch to full screen mode to save in the current resolution.

Thank you. How about Kaspersky? That's an great Anti-Virus program for the newbies who don't know what they're downloading like a secret spyware in a file. Always scan before you download. :) Or just download it in a .rar file, then "right-mouse" click and Scan with Kaspersky or any other Anti-Virus programs you got.. I hope I've helped some guys a little bit :)?

Either I cant search or you guys are missing out on the sweetest little clipboard enhancer. Clip-X ClipX

Comes in 32 and 64bit versions, most plugins too. Light, ram usage is nothing and opposite some other tools in this category very stable. Go grab the beta, rightclick and configure away. Crank up saved clips to 50, let it save sessions, enable preview of pics, find suitable hotkeys and so on. Will change your computing - and increase productivity :geek:

Hey Brink!! I just joined the ranks of the 64 bitten! :)

I got a chance to test out the MS workaround for 32 bit shell extensions that don't work in 64 bit Vista. For drag & drop in many cases you need to have a 32 bit shell window for both source and destination. I hacked together a little hotkey doodad that lets you open selected folders in 32 bit shell windows by hitting Shift-Enter.

Makes it a bit easier to keep using those convenient shell extensions. It's called Half Shell. Here's a link to the download page:

Hotkeys

These little hotkey things are addictive. You can do some cool things in about 8 lines of code. :)

Here's another of mine. It's a little shell utility to comment files called TipOff. Supported archive file types will show the comment in a Tooltip. It also has a small command line converter to read TipOff data files and write them as a TreePad .hjt file that can be edited and imported using TreePad Lite. It will work in Vista64 if used in conjunction with the Half Shell utility.

TipOff

Edit: Now v. 1.1 - I added a button to the Property Page Comment Tab to run the converter without resorting to the dreaded command line. :)

Edit 2: For those who were using CommentConfig I uploaded a utility you can download separately before installing TipOff to help preserve/convert CommentConfig data. Download Tip2Tree and follow directions in the readme. Hang onto your CommentConfig data file because in future I may write a utility to convert to the new TipOff format. (If you have a sophisticated text editor that does complex editing substitutions you may be able to convert yourself using suggestions in the readme without having to do it by hand.)

Edit 3: I've updated this utility to v. 1.4. You can use the Enter key in the Property Page dialog. It does not support Tab characters but you can use Enter and spaces to add a bit of formatting to your comments. This update is backward compatible with v. 1.3. I also updated the TreePad file generation to process multiple lines for an entry if present.

Some of you may remember that awhile back I posted looking for a way to embed tags directly into xVid or DivX AVI files, similar to the way ID3v2 is used to tag MP3 files.

Although it would appear as though Windows Explorer can display tags embedded within AVI files, it has no way of editing them.

I have found a utility that allows such tags to be embedded within AVI files. It is called abcAVI, is 100% freeware, and can be downloaded here.

I've only just started experimenting with it, so I can't give any more information beyond that the last update to this utility appears to have been version 1.8.1 in 2005. It seems to work without problems even on Windows 7 BETA x64 Build 7000.

Updated XMon To further aid those of us who want to keep using their 32 bit
shell extensions in Vista64 I added a button to XMon that's only enabled when
running on 64 bit. It opens the selected folders in the 32 bit shell.

(Also I'm not bored with the transparency gimmick yet so I added your basic Opacity
up/down button.) :)
