I tried to install before uninstalling rc sp2 and I got a window that told me to uninstall the previous service pack first. Then tried to install it before rebooting (after uninstalling rc sp2) and got another window that said to reboot to clear previous files...

So the install process will let people who have rc version on their system know to uninstall...at least in my case it did

I just installed sp2. The download took longer than the installation did. :D

But so far everything is running smoothly, boot time was a few seconds faster too i noticed. Thanks for the heads up..i had no idea SP2 was being released today.

Since installing SP2 had 3 BSOD 0x0000007f caused by NETIO.SYS. But on the plus side nice improvments for Bluetooth.

Its now happening constantly.

Dear Mr Gates,
I have still not received the Vista SP2 update over Windows Update, yet it seems all my friend all over the world have. Exactly this has happened several times in the past, including SP1, IE8 and other tempting features.

Perhaps I have offended you?
I appologize; it may have been intentional, after all, there are so few other suppliers to offend.

I will continue waiting for your latest blessing, the other ones did eventually come, though it took up to a month or two for them to reach my small corner of the world. I promise I will not turn to another supplier, however tempting.

Humbly yours,
Submarine

Microsoft has said that the rollout over Windows Update is gradual. If you need SP2 that badly, download it from the links in the first post.

No it is not that urgent. It is just it seems I am always in the end of the line of the roll-outs, yet I have an English OS to get them a bit faster, especially the security updates (though this strategy seems to work)

Look on the bright side - at least you will "know" the good & bad points of the slow offerings well before they arrive at your computer! :D

Thanks, I will. It can be good to be last in line now and then. Sometimes, you can learn how to avoid some traps. It is a bit against my personality though. A slow furniture supplier can find himself sitting on his own chairs. :)
Nevertheless, I am patient enough to wait for the update as this feels safer, right or wrong.

I installed the SP2 from the link that Slimy had posted. Thanks for the posting, it seems to run better than SP1 but if need some more time to determine that really. My CAD programs seem to be responding faster which is good.

Thanks for the post!!

If you use the link that Slimy had posted it goes to the standalone for multiple languages. I installed SP2 in English for my x64 system without a hitch using that link. Try it out.

SP2 installed here without incident in about 15 minutes. Oddly enough, I noticed the SP2 update didn't appear in Windows Update until 'after' I installed IE8 (which I don't use anyway).

Yes, just drag and drop in the desired spot, with the cursor.

Yeah I have tried that, and it did'nt work, they just keep getting muddled up again in the wrong order I even took all of them off and turned off the side and rebooted and set them back up again on the side bar and when I logged off and logged on again they were all in the wrong order again.

This problem has me intriqued, I will try my best to come up with ideas, just let us know the final outcome.

How about deleting all of them, shut the computer off for a few minutes, reboot and put one gadget back. Do the shut down, reboot thing for each gadget, that should work. If that does not work, try right clicking on each gadget, detach from side bar, turn off computer, reboot and replace the gadgets.

Just had another idea, maybe a bit drastic for the problem. Use system restore to go back to a time prior to sp2, delete all the gadgets, then download sp2, then install gadgets. That actually should work.

Hiya,

I have tired re adding the gadgets and its still the same, I also deleted the sp1 backup files so I dont know what to do now?
