EmulatorX, Nice rig man. almost exactly what I want to build. But one question..

How well do you think a gtx 260 would fit on the Rampage II Extreme if you use the discrete sound that comes with the board? Or would it fit at all?

Very Nice PC. I do like that case.

I have a question (again) about RAM..... DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)

I was looking at the Corsair Dominator Series... But it's not for me. Too pricey. I don't do much on my PC besides play BF2/AIM/Surfing/Porn.

Any advice??

You should look at this one again; after the MIR.

You may not have to adjust anything to get it to run at 1066, all I had to do was raise the voltage to 2.1 get my 8GB to run at 1066.

Don't know if anyone is on now but I just installed the 750i and my new ram... The harddrive is not recognizing.

I have to re-install the OS.

Do I want XP Pro........... or Vista Ultimate x64?????? argh

nice new system..you should use the "newer" OS IMO..thats just me..i know XP is probably faster than vista, but at this point with my new system( for example, could vary from other peoples systems..just in my experience)..it doesnt really matter..im very happy with my vista64 with this newely updated system.. i can only imagine win7..i briefly tested it once..and i was amazed.. i cant wait for full retail though ( by then SSD's should drop a bit.. which should go splendidly with win 7 )

You mean you tried keeping your hard drive with everything on still without formatting, and tried putting it straight on to your new motherboard?

everlong, ill answer that for him.. the answer i believe is YES he tried, but you know what? when i moved from my asus rampage formula x48 to asus rampage 2 extreme x58..i just wanted to see what would happened if i just plugged and played.. and guess what it actually booted up.. i was missing all the chipset drivers and whatnot but it BOOTED!! lol, i wound up reformatting since i have all my stuff backed up on another HDD anyway.and becuase i wanted to feel like a cleaner OS from scratch...but it IS possible to just plug in your OS HDD into a different mobo and boot up
