Still having power issues

what kind of issues are you having m8 ....???

is this with the new PSU...??

It started if Vista put the system to sleep the only way to power back on would be to remove the PCI-e connectors from the GFX cards, fire it up for a second then power back down and reconnect.

This is now happening every shutdown and reboot as well now

I have tried it with my old 8600's and it still does the same, although to power back on the gfx cards need to be removed.

The new PSU seemed to clear it up for a while but its getting worse now....new mobo tomorrow.

I was just about to say that.....new mobo!!! you swabbed out the PSUs, swabbed the GPUs, processors are pretty rugged by nature so its not likely to be that, im sure if it was RAM related you would get a BSOD, so that leaves the core component, motherboard....

what temp is the mobo reading...?? that sounds like a very weired problem though john, does the system work ok with just one card..??

It will only fire up now with one gfx card, running on just two screens is killing me

that mobo seems a bit warm don't you think john...?? 45c is certainly pretty toasty, especially given your cooling setup....

i suppose you've tried both the cards in the primary PCI-E slot, just to confirm they're both sound.

its a shame everything was purring along hope this new board sorts it

have you already spoken to scan..??

The top of the case with the big fan is off atm as it was getting in my way while swapping things

Yeah tried all combos with all 4 of my pci-e gfx cards.

I'll just take the mobo into scan tomorrow, I may get something different just to be safe.

what do you mean tight squeeze?, I can only use the outer ones on any of the current mobos as I also need to use a standard PCI for my dvb-s2 card as well.

Cards are both in and running great - well as great as it gets for a non-gamer

Everything is running absolutely sweet :D
