Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

I tried setting that in the realtek audio management screen and it did not result in it picking up anything more then stereo.

Any other ideas?

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

contacting the maker of you're computer if it's HP Dell Compac ASUS what they Install is a Low grade default sound card uselly in the Mother Board if you're not happy with the sound card and the setting the updates uselly work but in vistas case people are haveing a lot of problem Solution is getting a PCI or Pci e sound card creative lab has a few good one I like My XFI Gammer card there's another guy here who has it as well my friend used for war of war craft and likes it :)
he's tryed a few other sound cards other people have recommend here and they crapped out Ventrilo he kept on resetting his USB Mic and thats no Good wher you're a raid Team leader and TechSupport person where you're voice comes though a lot better then trying to type it to keep up with other chatters and Players for the Price Of the Creative Blaster XFi Gammer and it's Demo CD you can't go wrong when a lot of Online gammers use thease higer more advanced sound do not know how to propperly set them up reson why i like creative lab sound card the set ups easy and I can Minipulate it to work with Vista and By Pass all Vistas Protocals and setups vista wan'ts yea have or you're gonna drive you're self nuts in trying to figoure thease thing's out .
from personal speaking i had a lot of problems configou'reing and mastering Vista by the time I figour're how to by pass a lot of it's fetres Vista works the way I wan't it to not according to the people who manifacturned it cause there is a lot a flaws in the Origonal version I have Sp1 installed and haven't gotten any poblems yet but a lot of Invalid paths left behind tha wern't cleaned up and that might lead to system crashes and system failours now this should be told so people will understand it really doesn't take a brainiac to figoure out there's something wrong with you're computer one day it works fine and next it craps out .

but Investing in a PCi Or if you're system has a PCi e slot then even better. and it's easy to install the more you're learn about you're computer the better trying to have some else always fix it is not always the case other people love to get there hands on other peoples computers and start screwing it up so better yet alway's a good thing to keep on top of i know went a bit off topic here but it's accurit and to the point

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

um ok that giant run on post aside, I built the computer, and am very comfortable with the hardware software etc.

This is just an odd problem where in vista 32 bit with the same driver everything worked fine when running a 5.1 source out through s/pdif and now it stays in stereo mode even when running a 5.1 source.

It is a common problem if you bounce around and read various sites and thats what we are looking to resolve, not to run out to buy another card because we cannot figure this odd situation out...

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

Got it working, had to get Cyberlink PowerDvd 7 and turn on s/pdif and everything was great, apparantly its windvd 8 under vista x64 that couldnt handle it.

Glad I didn't run out and buy another soundcard

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

Hi,

My analog speaker and microphone are no longer available in realtek HD audio manager (think it was after a windows update). I have downloaded all the latest drivers/patches - both windows, bios and realtek, deleted driver, removed device, reinstalled and so on, but in the realtek HD audio manager I can only see the digital in- and output.

Could you please give me som ideas to get this fixed.

Thanks :)

I had the same problem if you have an HP computer go into the HP PC Help & Tool and reinstall the driver just the setting for the driver cause if you don't you might re-install restore the whole computer right back to factory setting's/

it's right there in the manual i had to call hp for this the New driver wipes out all the HD drivers there nothing wrong with the drivers that came with the computer Plus
if he /she uses the Green stereo out to an External source by going through an an amp through the stereo it will light up plus keep the setting's to 5.1 sourround setting's or in my case it came with 7.1 souround sound setting i posted a message on this already it's like the vista driver for creative lab is crap sorry guys i have tryed them all gonna stick with the drivers that came with the sound card or th e computer for some reason the taken all the feature out we need and it sounds like tinny cheap speakers.

to prove a point I down Load a song Paul Parker Desire.mp3 it's a male synthasizer Band from the 80"s yyou hear what I'm hearing if yea have a good Quality stereo.

I'm checking this out myself. Not having any problems with the 1.80 release, but I'm keeping an eye on mfpmp.exe's average cpu load when playing non-DRM'ed mp3's. I'm at 5% now and I'd like to know if newer versions are improving rendering efficiency in Vista.

I called HP here in Canada Like I said if you're computer from HPS a few months old stick with the driver that came with it cause the min you install this New 1.87 Driver it wipes out the Realtech driver and all the feature you're restore has suggestion please don't down load it i had to take it off and put the mine back from the back on the hard drive HP has already created for us it's right there in HP PC Help & Tool Guys :) if you have problem's going through the Installation i can help you i will post the set up here step by step to bring you're Audio back no point in downloading the new 1.87 driver its crap take it from experience here you guys are waisting you're time trying it dosn't work.

its how you go through the set up you have to tweak the realtech driver and setting's in order for it to work it's better to play around and do a propper set up for the driver then screw trying to find a new driver when the Origonal works fine.

and I not the Only that readys thease late at night hehehhe cause i read all as much as i can then i go try some stuff listed here if i can't find the answer from the manifacture or microsoft web site but most of this i know by heart so know where I'm comming from in thease sittuations.

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

One nice improvement between 1.8 and 1.87a is that my ALC889A now shows up in the realtek software as such. With 1.8 it always thought it was a 885. Very strange, but seems to be fixed now.

I have great sound and no problems with the uninstall and installation of this driver. Even after removing the old driver, I didn't lose any of my settings; everything was setup just the way I like it. I recommend this update. I'll look into cpu loading during audio rendering tomorrow.

Thanks for the notice Brink, it's already made my computer a little better.

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

So I just recently got Home Premium x64 and I am considering partitioning my HD so I can have XP32 bit home on most of it. Main reason is right now Vista is piddling me off. One main problem with audio is that my drivers are working fine but I can't open up the Sound effect manager or any manager besides Vista's audio which sucks. So if anyone else has had the problem that when they double click the application in the installshield folder inside of Realtek then please let me know. Also, is there any patch to allow for multiple streams of audio at once, if not then Microsoft are idiots. I say this because they are promoting vista for gamers yet being a gamer I know that having only one audio stream is just not going to work. My problem is, say I am gaming and using my 2.1 speakers, well my roommate comes in and says turn that down I need to study or what not. To turn it down I have to go alt-tab out of my game, go into Vistas stupid audio setup and change from speakers to headphones as default device. Does anyone else find this incredibly annoying? Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else is having trouble opening up their Realtek Sound Manager in Vista x64. I double click the .exe and nothing happens. If your wondering I do have the latest R1.71 driver and the Asus M2n32-SLi Premium Vista Edition mobo. Also I forgot to mention, my Headset which is a Sennheiser from maybe about 3 or 4 years ago works fine in XP and even in CS Source on Vista x64. Only problem is the Mic volume is really low and I can't use it in Ventrilo or even Microsoft Sound Recorder. In order to get any sound from my mic I have to yell when setting up the microphone through vista. As I said though it works perfectly fine in CS Source on x64 and works fine in every sense on XP 32. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

there usb mic's headphone sets which can also Eliminate all of this stress of front and rear jacks if useing a good qaulity USB Head phone set i have seen no one here mentioned that for gaimming.

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

Hi guys,
I'm having some problems with my Windows Vista x64 with SP1 (final)

I've got onboard Realtek HD audio which works fine in Vista x86, but since wiping and doing a clean install with Vista x64 with SP1 integrated (release to manufacture) My system blue screens when installing the Realtek 1.87a drivers. I've also tried earlier versions, but it does the same thing.

The system works fine with the Windows sound drivers, but only in stereo mode. So I try and install the Realtek drivers so I can get the Sound Manager in Control Panel and set it to 5.1, halfway through the install , the system freezes, and goes to a blue screen and dumps physic memory, then system reboots. I can install the drivers fine in Safe Mode, but it won't log back into normal mode, just keeps rebooting.

Problem report summary

Problem type
Windows stop error (a message appears on a blue screen with error code information)
Solution available?
No
What does this problem mean?
Windows has encountered a problem it cannot recover from and it needs to be restarted

Additional steps for you to take

Is anyone else having this problem.
All my drivers are up-to-date, and I've tried using older versions too, for all my devices, but the system keeps blue screening.
The x86 version works fine, even with Service Pack 1 Installed (final version)

Please help, it's annoying...

Thanks
Dan

No problem installing the new 1.88 driver on my computer. You might try downloading them again to see if maybe they just got corrupted the first time.

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

Hi Everyone,

I'm first time here and not so experienced with computers hoping someone will be able to help me with my built in mic problems.

I have a new laptop HP Pavilion dv 6000 and have a problem with my built in microphone.
As I mentioned before, I'm not computer expert so i tried something after reading replays under this topic but without any success. I'm not sure if new driver for relatek (1.8) is suitable for my system or not. I installed driver and lost HD realtek Audio Manager from my control panel. So i started panicking and done System restore to earlliest point.

I have HD realtek Audio manager on my computer
49094118jv4.jpg

This is what i have when open HD realtek Audio manager
65790958fq1.jpg

This is what i believe is driver information
18371925cg7.jpg

My built in microphone working but quality is so poor with so much noise. Furthermore, mic sound level is set to 100% but still when recording it records it very silent with so much noise.

I tried to automatically update driver from the property but computer always responds that I have latest driver.

Following pictures shows the property of the recording device
miccp7.jpg

mic2ay4.jpg

As i already mentioned after installing 1.8 version of driver i lost my HD Realtek Audio Manager and under the properties I got 2 Microphones...

I hope someone will be able to help me to make my mic work properly,

Kind regards
Jovana

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

Hi Jovana,

Welcome to Vista x64 Forums.

You will need to install the Realtek Audio drivers twice. Once to uninstall the currently installed driver (what you experienced), then a second time to actually install the new driver. You will need to reboot after each install. See the first page in this thread on how to verify that you have the new version installed in Device Manager.

For your microphone:
In the Realtek HD Audio Manager:
1. Click on the Microphone tab that is set as default.
2. Adjust your microphone volume to about 70.
3. Adjust your microphone boost slider (button to the right of volume button) to +20.0 db.
4. Dot (filled in with blue) Noise Suppression and Acoustic Echo Cancellation.
5. Click OK.

Hope this helps you,
Shawn

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

Thank you very much Shawn,

I managed to install realtek driver. Now I have again Realtek HD Audio Manager. Thank you very much for instruction.

In audio manager I tried to setup mic as you suggested. I checked (dotted) noise Suppression and Acustic Echo cancellation. I have to admit that noise is drastically reduced when recording my own voice.

Somehow mic level is still very low. For example mic is set to 100% when recording. Usually for speakers 20% is enough to hear everything clear. I have to turn speakers to 100 when playing whatever I record and even than it is not loud enough.

Any suggestion where I can increase mic volume ?

Once again thank you very much for your help

Re: New Realtek HD audio driver update

Jovana, I'm glad to hear you almost have everything ok again. Did you adjust your microphone boost DB level? Usually +20.0 db is enough, but you can try +30.00 db to see how that does.

Thank you Shwan for your help.
I did increase Db to +40, that is maximum. i only have 3 options, 0 +20 and +40.
Now is much better and I'm happy cos there is no noise when recording as before.

Thanks again for all your effort :)
