Latest AMD Catalyst Video Drivers for Vista

Re: Latest ATI Catalyst Video Drivers

Had trouble installing this one, could not get the CCC to load.
After using driver sweeper and CCleaner in safe mode it still would not load.
In desperation i used the ATI un-install option during setup, it worked, go figure that.
Anyhoo, it all seems to be working OK, so if you have problems try the un-install option.

Re: Latest ATI Catalyst Video Drivers

ATI needs to fire each and every software developer! They Really are worthless! For anyone that has the ATI 3870 X2, stay with 9.4 version as that works the best. NEVER update before doing a restore. The fans setting are not adjustable but Riva Tuner works for that just fine. I think I might dump these two 3870 X2 for the NVidia cards, these drivers always worked for me in the past very well! Any takers?

What's the model name of your laptop?

Also type "system info" into the the start menu to open system information. Expand components>display and post a screenshot of that page

It's funny how every time I have issues installing a new release, everybody else s installation is problem free. However when I don't have an issue - everybody else does :p

The new CCC doesn't look bad, but is slower to navigate

why update if it is working fine?

The simple answer is - don't.

But if you do have an issue or need an improvement for a particular game that has been included in that release, then obviously update them.

Same drop down menu that is nice and everything looks the same as before with no problems so far. I am running crossfire with an Intel i7 920 and have not noticed anything special yet but everything appears to work fine. The fan control for the 3870 still does not work but I guess they gave up on fixing that a while ago!

Exactly what is a super MOD? I just have to ask! No disrespect intended as I was a MOD at a site years back. Does the title come with some sort of cape to wear?

Thanks for your info on the supermod. It sounds like a lot more work from what I recall!:D Any way, the new download worked fine with no problems, just be sure to un install your ATI program before installing this new one first so ther is no conflict. Reboot then install. It works just fine.
