Solved DVD reading error

Evidently Chappy here had the same problem with this optical drive-

spin.
All hdd's have rpm. for example I use RAID O with two 320GB 7200rpm hard disks- the rpm's are the speed at which the platters spin. Optical drives do not have platters. Optical drives are listed as read/write speeds. for example, I have a 2x DL BD-RE @8xCD-RW/4xDVD-RW/2.4xDL DVD-R/2xBD-RE/1xDL BD-RE

cool, well you learn something everyday, but the company I bought it from made it look like it was a optical drive. so i took the WD Raptor as optical drive (I thought) and the SpinPoint as storage.

so i need to install the optical device (SATA) manually, I suppose I uninstall it in device manager, but how do I reinstall it? do I have to find the location of the driver file?

If your sata wd raptor spins @ 10,000rpm's it is not an optical drive, but an HDD.
Your samsung DVD-RW drive is also a sata drive, this is what you need to remove, and reinstall. You may need to have your sata/raid drivers handy so that windows new hardware wizard can install.

In device manager uninstall your samsung drive, then remove the drive physically from your computer, restart, then reinsert your optical drive and install sata driver through the wizard- In device manger you can locate your Storage Controller. For example, I have the VIA VT6421 sata/raid controller, So I would go to VIA and download the driver package for the VT6421, and extract the driver folder onto my thumb drive. To install it I would navigate the wizard to the folder, then to the Vista x64 folder (since I run 64-bit Windows), and then click the vt6421 driver.

ok, so I have Microsoft iSCSI Initiator as Storage controller, the I go to Microsoft and download device package. It says in the PC raport of the producers that the TSST's full name is TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S223Q SCSI Device, that means that it has something to do with my storage cotroller, is there maybe something wrong with my storage controller?

Downloaded the package and tried to install it, but it could not find the update.inf so it couldn't update.
BTW. can't find my drivers folder.

NO. the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator is not your storage controller-look under that, it should display the controller (may be listed as RAID controller).
here is an image of mine- Which is a VIA controller:

See above- the microsoft initiator is not your raid/sata controller that you need to download/install

Download package for the RAID/SATA controller, extract the driver folder onto a thumb drive/floppy drive or folder on your computer. To install it navigate the wizard to the folder, then to the Vista x86 (32-bit) folder , then click the controller driver that matches what in listed under storage controller.

OEM driver disk will include your SATA/RAID controller drivers. It is the same controller used by your WD Raptor SATA HDD

Look in your included driver disk for RAID/SATA controller or driver package

Your controller appears to be Magic ISO raid SCSI Host Controller (I think as I cant read much of your device manager image as it is in another language)

Try this, or see if you have something similiar on your driver disk:
MagicISO SCSI Host Controller 5.1.185

searched both of the drivers, but the closest was MagicISO
You do not have a SATA controller.
A SCSI controller coordinates between all of the other devices on the SCSI bus and the computer. Also called a host adapter, the controller can be a card that you plug into an available slot or it can be built into the motherboard. The SCSI BIOS is also on the controller. This is a small ROM or Flash memory chip that contains the software needed to access and control the devices on the bus.

SCSI has a processor integrated into the controller, and you need to install the scsi controller driver. Are you sure this driver is not on your backup driver disk? Anything listed with SCSI? I need to know what board you are using in order to locate the drivers. If we cannot find the driver, you may have to replace the controller board- this issue your having may be a result of a problem with this board also (corrupted driver or bad board, etc.)

found much more when I changed language to English, in C: drive i found for example ScsInstaller.exe in, found in total 140 items when I searched for SCSI

No. I do not think it is necesssary...yet. Call them and tell them your issue with the scsi optical not reading disks, and ask them for assistance in reinstalling driver. They can tell you were it is (if you have a backup/driver disk), or what scsi driver you need and /or where you can download it. This will resolve your issues fast, and if it is later determined your board/optical drive is bad I suggest you send it in for repair/replacement.

I still have 2 years free service from the company that created my system, should I just send it in and let them fix it?

No. I do not think it is necesssary...yet. Call them and tell them your issue with the scsi optical not reading disks, and ask them for assistance in reinstalling driver. They can tell you were it is (if you have a backup/driver disk), or what scsi driver you need and /or where you can download it. This will resolve your issues fast, and if it is later determined your board/optical drive is bad I suggest you send it in for repair/replacement.

ok, willdo and thanks for all the help!
