Mine isn't at the moment, theres a fault with the BT line and a wired computer is getting download speeds of 130 kbps and a wireless (802.11g) laptop is getting download speeds of about 20 kbps

The broadband at my new house came live over the past weekend:-

Mine isn't so great, but I'm still using DSL. Still as I don't play games, don't download video or audio files, rarely download anything but relatively small program files, can view videos online without delays, rarely get or send e-mails with large attachments, and rarely if ever upload anything except a small file here or there to SkyDrive, it's perfectly satisfactory (though I admit I'm envious of some of the numbers I've seen here purely from a "I'd like to have a better performing PC" perspective).

I believe my ISP offers higher speed DSL options (for more per month of course), but even still, it would be comparatively slower than cable or other options. i still can't believe I saw 90+MB/sec download above (and there may have been others higher I didn't notice). I'd have to be using my laptop quite differently before I would ever pay for such access - I can't imagine needing or using so much. I mean, it's VERY impressive, but what does someone do on a laptop to require that kind of speed? Does it really help that much with games or do you download large files (like videos) that often to justify the expense (because I suspect that kind of speed must cost quite a bit no matter where you live or how it is [legally] obtained).

I'm running a true blue gigabit system (CAT6 ethernet to a gigabit adapter, hosted, if you will, by a DOCSIS 3.0-compliant cable modem, an Arris.)

PS - below is a bundle: It's here in Indiana (unlimited local, long distance, 12 features for VOIP phone + 16 Mbps internet @ $49+ [before taxes, surcharges, which are a far cry LESSER than copper wire phone company])
