this is strange thing i ever got once in my life. I'm subscribed to 2Mb/s connection.

Yes it is 2mb/s i means its very some times I get results like these. 93mb/s or 61mb/s. Quite wired.

yes its shared. means i've router and i m allowing some of my neighbors to use. I m also using wifi dongle.

Very generous to allow others to use your internet. If you are paying for 2meg and getting x 45 times speed and you are on wireless with others using it, I suggest you are getting spurious reading..

yes but others r giving me chances to stop there connection that's why i m finding ways to limit there download speed . Actually its not what i m getting all time. Only sometimes when I start some download. and get this speed only for few seconds.

Saeen, you can easily lock your modem with a password if you want to stop others using your internet for nothing. :D

Hi Americano,

I am on 50 meg and use Netgear for my applications away from my direct wired computer. I always use Netgear as the equipment is good and the service back up is great.

I suggest you look at a WRN2000 router. This will give you up to 300mbps and 5 x coverage. However, always remember that your wired application will always give the best performance and it depends on the time of the day on what speed you get. Nothing is guaranteed until you pay for it.

We are about to upgrade our package to 23 mbps. Unfortunately I'm off a three year old Netgear wireless router... So I'm sure that's limiting me to what I could be at.

Any suggestions on a good router to upgrade to?

We just got our package updated today and after running a speed test the connection is at the same amount. I don't know if they didn't upgrade the speed or if I am already at the maximum speed my router can transfer. Do you, or anyone else, know if this is the case? My router model is:

NETGEAR MR814 v2
