Whats the Best Antivirus/ Security Suite??

Hmmm. Someone's opinion only that not everyone will agree with.;)
Yes you are right JMH. I have noticed that there are about 6 to 8 Antivirus programs that show up on a regulat basic. They all are good just depends what you want. Fast or slow, bloat or less etc. Psss I use AVG Internet Security Suite with all the bells and yes up to 2 hours for a complete scan but what the heck I'm in bed asleep anyway. Have a great day.

It depends on how many files you have and how large they are really. I had 1,000,000 files on my laptop at one point and most of those large files and it took Avast 4-5 hours to do a FULL COMPLETE scan. Like William said, just do the scan when you're not going to be on it such as when you're sleeping or at work.

Thanks. Yes I realise what it depends on.
Mine is scanning well over the number of files that you mentioned.
Yours takes 4 to 5 hours?
My scans operate when I'm around. Being curious I like to know what's going on.

I just checked my scan records and for 850000 files it's 2 hours and seven min. I am using the AVG Internet Security version 8.5.416, virus DB: 270.13.114/2401 and my License expires in January 2010. As far as I can tell it does the job and for information it has: Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Spam, Two way firewall, Anti-Rootkit, System Tools, E-mail Scanner, ID Protection, LinkScanner,Web Shield, Resident Shield and Active License information. Anyway have a great day and this has got to be the best information site for VISTA and the people here are just super.

That's why its a good idea to defrag and clean your hard disk, and not installing junk software. Norton 360 takes 35min on a 33% full laptop with a defragged, cleaned 7200RPM 320GB disk.

Nope full system scan. I'll save the report next time and upload it. I keep my system free of rubbish freeware, defragged and use Glary Utilities. Norton quick scan takes less than 2 min. Note Norton 360 caches files you use frequently and uses Norton insight to identify services that are community trusted.

Yes, when it's time to renew it will be with AVG and I forgot to mention that it does have a speed setting and I just put it in high gear so we will see how much time it cuts off. I was running it in normal mode to save on power in case I was doing some other work but as stated before I run it as I sleep so no problem. I will let you know the results. Thanks and have a great day, we have one that is always in the top ten every year and I'm talking more than just a AV. :roflmao:

It's a very human trait to say that what "moi" has [ be it car, house, OS, AV etc] is the best.
BTW - Aren't we lucky to have so many choices???;)
