Those aren't downloads. It looks like your Norton Security is stripping my email of any images - the blue stationery I use, my signature as here in the forums and the other wording I always have in emails.

Thanks so much Peter. I reinstalled the software. My mother was also thankful. She is retired & on a fixed income.
I did run across a couple things. Wonder if you may know. After the Install I could not access internet. My mom leaves about 2 hours away & she is heading home tomorrow night with her laptop. 4 items under the device Manager had the exclamation points. I am certainly no expert. But I am guessing I need to get the network controller first?
It is a Dell inspiron 1545 laptop. Vista home premium 32. I have not done many reinstalls myself. LOl But usually I have all the disks. If you have a suggestion. I would appreciate that thanks. She uses Wireless I guess. But I am
home now with a wired connection. I wanted to connect to internet to set her all up with windows updates & security. but it wont connect? Maybe Burn to a disk then to her laptop? I am a bit lost myself. Thanks so much.

Dell should have all the drivers you need on their website. If your mother registered her laptop on line originally there should be a personalised support page using the Dell service tag number but if not there should be a product page which you could research for whichever drivers those exclamation marks refer to.
Dell are one of the few manufacturers who use their own exclusive drivers for certain things so that would explain why Vista itself didn't install all the necessary drivers.
If you have a flash drive you could look this up in advance and store them on that drive in readiness.

Hello again, I was able to install the Vista ISO. Thanks again very much. My mom then left for home yesterday.
I still have a few questions If anyone could help that would be great. The reinstall went fine. My only problem was 4 or 5 drivers that had exclamation points. I am not great with computers but I guess capable. lol On the bright side she called today & said she found the Dell driver disk. The drivers that are missing were.
1. Ethernet controller
2. Network controller
3. Video controller
4. Sm bus controller
5. I think she said also graphics standards?

Dell Inspiron 1545 32 bit
I didn't have time to burn them and install as she was on her way home. But she has dell driver disk.
I have zero knowledge about drivers. Can anyone tell me the best way to install these wit the DvD? Or can I have her just install the wirelss ? = Network controller? Then get the other stuff? Not sure How to use the dell driver DVD.
Should I install the whole thing? If so how do I go about this process. Thanks sorry. :(

My Computer

The ones on the DVD are probably quite old. Did you do as I previously suggested and look on the Dell website?

Once you have them it's simply a matter of double-clicking them and running the installer. The trouble is that Dell gives them all numbers so it can be confusing.

I found for my old Dell machine it was best to form a folder labelled "Dell Drivers" and then download each one from their website and rename it to whatever it's for, otherwise later on you have no idea which one is which.

Hello,

I am looking to reinstall Vista Home Premium 32bit to my wife's laptop.
Factory reset via HP Recovery Manager does not seem to be working and I cannot get into the recovery on boot up.
(I think the recovery drive has been copied over by subsequent backups)

Of course, I have the original product key on the underside.

Are the downloads provided at www.heidoc.net legit?
Windows Vista Direct Download Links

Or can someone here provide me with a legit installation?

Those Heidoc ones are all only with SP1. You need Vista including SP2. I can provide that ISO as long as you post your email address, masked as in abc AT xyz DOT com.

You can come back and edit it out after I send you the email.
