I need to think of a way to make some money while I am at my college. lol.

Check out Computer Repair Service, Virus Removal, Online PC Support. Help Services 24/7 - Support.com. While it says it only has full-time employees, that may be subject to change for the right person. And it even says you can work from home on the notification page: Careers : Automatic Job Notification.

There are probably others like it which may better suit your timing and schedule. Then, of course, there's always "Geek Squad."

Today I made a cheesecake that didn't go to plan :(

:roflmao:

My Dad comes to mind. He cannot cook anything. He cannot work out how long to put a potato in the microwave. He put a WHOLE egg in a microwave once as well. This is incredibly dangerous. The pressure builds up inside the shell, and suddenly explodes with enough force to blow the microwave door off. He had to live on his own for a while. He ate an entire can of bake beans cold for lunch and dinner, and cereal and milk for breakfast. He got vitamin and mineral deficiencies! Now Mum and I do the cooking!

Martial Arts or Gymnastics --- pretty bleeping amazing for a person to be able to do all that with his or her body!!!

Gymnastics is better ;) IMO

I'm a 4th dan blackbelt in Ninjutsu and a 5th dan blackbelt in Aiki-jutsu. Because of this, I was generally good at gymnastics but not trained and could only do what I was taught (and it was only a tiny part of the school's program so we weren't taught anything but the basics if even that). But as you can imagine, I have a slightly :sarc: different opinion on which is better (and probably a much different opinion on which is more useful in life - or in protecting it or that of others).

That is very impressive indeed. I can see why you would think differently! Do you use the martial arts style, 25m run up, launch of both feet, manoevre in the air, land, or a few step run ups. Probably both! Very impressive indeed! Keep it up!

Today...
With my project in mind I went to the local 99p store to get some glowsticks but ended up coming out with this "Chameleon Lamp". I was really surprised at how they can sell a colour changing LED for so cheap... Anyways, I'm gunna get a few more while they have them, so I can prepare for when I get the glowsticks.. They come with a puch-clicky switch, so I'll be using that too. ;)

Pretty normal day at school, I walk into the library, it goes quiet, I walk out, it gets louder :sarc: Idk, I went to get some lunch. Lol.

With my current breathing condition, I no longer practice the arts and I miss it. And yes, both, and many, many other things as well (including the use of exotic weaponry which I still sometimes practice as some of it isn't nearly as aerobically intensive).

Was reading earlier posts about martial arts good to hear some do it.
I did Tae Kwon Do for 9 years but just got bored with it all, Short attention span I guess.Still have that.

Only 100 to go, Chase - then we all get to see another shiny new badge on your profile. I still have 450 or so before I get there (so I'm about 2 months away at my current rate).

@ ilikefree,

I actually did start with and take a few weeks of training in Tae Kwon Do at the very beginning (around 6 or 7 yrs old - can't remember exactly), but found that I didn't like the style (and while not sure why at the time, I now know why).

1. Too much focus on footwork and very little close-contact training and too much focus on attack and not enough on defense.

2. Almost no weaponry training - certainly not like ninjutsu where I have ALL the possible weapons and can quite effectively use all of them though better with some than with others (I can hit the bullseye EVERY time with a wide variety of shuriken stars and darts from 25 feet but after that I lose accuracy quite quickly as I can't maintain a consistent throwing speed and get different dropoffs, and manriki chains, and a bo that turns into a hokachai (like a nunchaka but with three bars instead of two - a lot better once you learn how to use it) where I'm VERY good within about 10 feet and satisfactory to a maximum of 15 - unless I throw it then I can do some damage out to about 25-30 feet but I hate that as I then lose my weapon and it's only good against one person (but if he has a gun, then there's no choice unless I use a different long-distance weapon and I may not have the time to switch), and different explosive and smoke powders, and climbing claws, several different swords (including my favorite katana) and a wide variety of throwing and fighting knives, kamas, sais, and quite a few more).

3. Unlike Aiki-justsu which is highly defensive-oriented, tae kwon do is more about attack (and in many martial arts (especially Aiki-jutsu which is the precursor to the more commonly practiced Aikido today - think Steven Segal), the attacker is the one who loses the encounter (though that's not the case with ninjutsu, especially if using weapons, which is quite a bit more balanced and every move is designed to leave you with a good defensive position whereas tae kwon do often leaves you sometimes wide open for a counter-strike). Although I prefer Aiki-jutsu as it is less aggressive and more oriented to fending off attacks (since I've never started a fight in my life and this art is good at just fending off an attacker until they give up or are rendered immobilized), I must say that ninjutsu is quite a bit more effective if I'm inclined to do some damage or attacked by a group (especially if carrying weapons). To be honest, my own style is a unique combination of the two - it's not like I switch back and forth but instead use features of both as appropriate.

While these days I couldn't go full-out for long, I have adapted and, unfortunately, that means I've had to become far more deadly quicker as I don't have the breath to try to defuse the situation by proving the futility of the attack. If attacked now, I would try first to disable (breaking bones and such) and then, if I found myself having breathing difficulty, I would need to become lethal far more quickly than I would prefer (and I pray that never becomes necessary).

I've only been in a couple of situations in my life (all when much younger) and all turned out fine (for everyone in fact), and hope no more ever occur because I can no longer afford to allow things to get drawn out and I really don't want to badly hurt someone or several people (or worse) - but I'm not going to be a helpless victim either and I'm not going to let anyone I'm with come to harm because I failed to act. Even unarmed, it can legally be considered assault with a deadly weapon unless I can justify what I did as self-defense, and even then it can be considered excessive force simply because of my training. Then again, these things don't happen hardly at all around where I live and tend to go - unlike what Richard has related which sounds like a war zone. Although even in the USA, I'm not permitted to carry a firearm outside my own property (and would if in a state where it was permitted - like Texas where I believe Brink lives) - that doesn't apply to some (but not all) of the martial arts weapons, so I'm never totally unarmed anywhere.

Anyway, as you expressed some interest, I thought I'd expand on it a bit.

Later, man!

@Chase, that site is so cool! ;)

Today was bleh, if that's a descriptive word lol.
Started off okay, some mates wrecked some new pens I bought, they are these TriPlus things, really nice, smooth pens, so the guy takes it off the table, then throws it at me across the room, I dodge it, hits the floor right on the nib, and now it won't write at all. I bot the set half price, but that's not the point, he still shouldn't have done it...

Took the kitten to the vets again, her stitches are healing well, she has another week with the lampshade on, then we can let her out. She had some injections too, so that's cool. The vet is really good, bout half hour drive from where I live, they even gave us cat food for her after the op. Loads better than the one on the island.

Parents are going out tonight, so I'm gunna do some stuff, probably try and sort things with me and Abbie out, again, I think I've done something, tried texting her, no reply, same thing with MSN. Idk, maybe she has something going on and forgot about me. Damn, I shouldn't be getting this worried/scared/upset about this... Might go on the Wii Fit for a while aswell...

Yeah I like the drawing game a lot.

Sorry to hear about your pen, but I'm glad to hear your cat is healing well.

Today so far I haven't been anywhere as productive as normal - I've basically only responded to replies and messages and made some simple posts (like this) and a few comments but not sought out threads in which to post (well, I have and saw several but then just backed out to the main menu without even reading them!!). I believe I've made only one genuinely good post since I woke (plus a few others of acceptable but not extraordinary quality). I'm having an uncommonly difficult time breathing and not even the emergency inhaler seems to be helping and that's a considerable distraction and because of that I'm having trouble focusing - I couldn't even concentrate enough to watch an on-demand TV show I normally enjoy a lot and had to turn it off.

Plus we have yet another pinhole leak in our water pipes (which means $180-220 AGAIN). I'm going to have to learn how to do this type of work myself (or perhaps more accurately, just start doing it myself even if I have to keep going to get parts and even if it causes an attack) as it's occurring more and more often and we can't afford the $13,000 it would cost to replace all the copper pipes with PVC and be done with the problem (or $200 every other week or more for these fixes).

I've honestly had better days - this is very frustrating.
