Hmmz, okay, I'll see if I can plug it into the booster then, it's actually on the inside of the wall, so I should just be able to poke the cable thru.
I've got it coming from the aerial, then the splitter which goes to my room, then the other side goes into the booster, so really I should have a pretty good signal, right?

I still don't understand why I get ALL the other BBC channels but not 1 and 2, like, if I get the rest, I should get the the others.

Will have a look at the included software after I've eaten something :)

Fresh install is always good for a speed up, it's just remembering all the little tweaks that you thought were indispensable.

It may be best after this install and validation, make an image.
Next month make a second image. Every month update the second image.
When you want to reinstall again, you can use the most current image or go back to the first one, if the current one has problems. This will save the time needed to rienistall.

Update on the Tuner card.
I can see BBC1 and BBC2 on the list now! :party:
Only problem is when I click on them it says low signal, so I'll defo need to plug it in to the booster.

I also set it to record The Walking Dead, something like that, on Channel 5 list night, and I was woken up by the computer turning itself on and back off again, I assume it recorded it okay.

Had some problems last night trying to copy some folders from my external drive to my PC, I took ownership of them, wouldn't let me copy, went into the super admin account and still wouldn't let me copy, went into the system account and STILL wouldn't let me copy, it says they are encrypted, but it don't give me an option to put the password in. The thing is though, I don't remember encrypting them. I'm going to try ubuntu today to see if that will let me copy them, hopefully it will ignore the encryption and just copy them.
Also, I found the folder on my netbook, but still...

Today it's a Bank Holiday, so no school!
Not planning to do much, have an old GX270 that I'm planning to load Ubuntu Server onto, might try and get some mates together and go out somewhere if the weather gets better. :)

Today I have never come closer to throwing my computer out of the window.

My laptop was dual booted with Windows 7 Ultimate and Ubuntu 10.10 but yesterday I re-installed windows because it was getting quite slow. And of course it overwrote the MBR so only Windows would boot although I had Ubuntu installed on a separate partition. So I booted into the Live CD and tried to reinstall GRUB, but something went wrong (I'm still not sure what) and nothing would boot. I had no bootloader!

All in all, today I've installed Windows 4 times and Ubuntu 5 times and I have eventually given up and I wiped the whole hard drive, removed all of my partitions and just installed Windows 7.

I'll dual boot again when I get less angry!

Thank god I made an image just before all of this began. I restored to this image and I've now got Windows 7 SP1 with all my drivers installed :D

I think that last line is important Try not to work on your computer when angry I gave mine a smack one day and had to buy a new hard drive. Least I found out where the drive was stored but what a way to find out.All good now and I have Ubuntu on a flash drive with a large persistence file so it will save any changes I make or programs I install on it.
