Think of it like a fine French wine - it should be savored, not gulped all at once. Take your time and you'll get there this week - no big rush. And I already congratulated you - so the accomplishment is just icing on the cake.

Frankly, I find the rep medal considerably more impressive - it's a representation of skill and acknowledgment and thanks and solving problems and anwering questions.

It was more fun when I was younger and more active and practicing daily and in excellent shape and health. In a pinch, and for a short period, I can still do most of it if it ever comes to that. I also still enjoy practicing as much as I'm able with the weapons I can still use effectively (like shuriken stars and darts, spears, throwing knives of all types, manriki chains, crossbows {pistol-sized but deadly though not much beyond 30 feet - especially if the darts are chemically treated}) or briefly with those that require more aerobic stamina (like a hokachai {think of it as a nunchaka with three sticks and two chains instead of two sticks and one chain - MUCH more effective, a wider perimeter, many more options and configuruations, and amazingly more potent} or a bo or even to some degree my Katana {technically not an official Ninja sword, but IMHO better and 10 times the price of any made for Ninjas}).

You said you're not a fighter, and that's fine (in fact, it's what we teach - avoiding conflicts). Once you get good enough, you can end things (or render someone immobile and helpless) so fast and without causing harm that it's as if nothing even happened. But that person will almost certainly never bother you again. I think you'd enjoy it - but then again, I think most people would if they actually dedicated themselves to it.

I'm not sure about others, but I hope to go from Vista to 8 directly and totally skip by W7 - and then focus in EF once it's released (but still keep track here in VF as long as it continues to exist).

MS really is not saying, but they have let it leak that it will be something completely new. Im thinking cloud.

I defrag quite often, about once a month. I absolutely cain hard disks! Have spent the last month or so practising (non-)pragmatic data management on an old hard disk. Basically, moving 500mb files around! Plus I have to keep updating all of my massive 500mb-3gb (download size - up to 25gb extracted) programming tools. When Microsoft release updates (every one to two months) I get 25% fragmentation after just two days of downloading and updating!

Phenomenal stress on the hard disk! Killed a 500gb one already (it lasted three and a half years - not too bad).

I have also set up a special three way backup system. Backups mirror from main location to backup drive, deletions on backup drive allowed. But they are copied around the network in a three pointed star, set up with two hours between them (although a backup never takes anywhere near that long) so deletions mirror around the systems, giving you 3x3 opportunities to catch an accidentally deleted file. I also then zip them up after the final trip, and keep these backups, skimming them out as I go (every rotation for a day, every day for two weeks, every first and fourth day for a month, once a week for a year, and once a month after six months) Do I need to say how long it took me to automate this procedure! It isn't even that important. It was just a challenge for me!
