Keep the cables as tidy as you can to help airflow.
Keep the cables you will change/move around the most to the front.
There is nothing worst than having to rewire the computer because of lack of planning.

Here is my rig(s):

2 x Dell XPS 720 H2C (Dual 8800GTX in both), 1 x Dell Vostro 200, Samsung 24" LCD, Dell 20" LCD, about 12TB of storage (I know, a little excessive, but it's almost all in use), Xbox 360 HD DVD drive (Blu-ray is internal in one of the XPS machines), 2 x APC Back-UPS, Sony lappy (not pictured, he's shy), and a few other bits and pieces.


Enjoy the cleanliness (they say it's next to godliness, hehe - just kidding). BTW - yes, that room gets hot rather quick without some decent ventilation.

Unfortunately, my rig (As seen in http://www.vistax64.com/general-disc...tml#post533290) went south thanks to mother nature and a lightning bolt to the mains supply that my UPS could not stop. Now I'm just waiting for the insurance payout, so I can build a new machine.

Other peoples disasters are some peoples delights

Won't see much other than the chassis and hard disks (all that survived) - the insurance company took all the damaged components for assessment before paying out for replacements.

This is what they are going to give me:

• PSU: AOpen® 700Watt
• Motherboard: ASUS MB-M3A32-MVP Deluxe/WiFi-AP Quad Crossfire
• Memory: 2 x A-DATA® DDR II-800 2048MB (4GB)
• CPU: AMD® Boxed Phenom™ 9600 Processor - 2.30GHz Quad Core
• Graphics: ASUS® ATI RADEON HD 2400PRO PCI-Ex16 256MB DDR2 64Bit

Not exactly the way I wanted to upgrade Venus, but such is life...

Here's my new build I almost completed March 10, 2008.
I'll take another one later on tonight showing the video and sound card.
She's runs so smooth, and quiet.
No complaints here, and it's my first time using an evga mobo...yeah, I'm impressed.

It's official. I'll begin construction of my new rig, once the new parts arrive arrive on Tuesday morning. I'll post photos soon after.

RAM : 4GB A-DATA® DDR II-800 (2 x 2GB Modules)

PSU : AOpen® 700Watt

Don't laugh at the Graphics card - That's all the insurance wants to give me. Search me why they won't replace the UPS. (Maybe it's a Telkom thing...)

Old Components:
Chassis : Thermaltake Tai-Chi Watercooled
Hard disks : Total Formatted 1.2TB (8 Hard disks)
Screen : 21" Sahara CRT (Max Res. 1600x1200)

The chassis, screen and hard disks that was inside Venus is all that survived the storm on 4 March 2008.
