Hello, i am thinking of getting a new video card soon, and wanted to know if the card i picked is better than my current one.

The card i want to get is the EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Video Card.

My current card is the
NVIDIA GeForce 8200.

Is the card i want to buy any better than the one i currently have? I don't know to much about video cards but I think it is better. If it is better, will this card run Race Driver : Grid, and COD5?

Thanks

GeForce 8200 equals onboard video, and yes the GTX 260 will blow it out of the water. Big question is, is your power supply up to running that card?

The minimum power requirement for the GTX 260 is 500 watts. So i'd settle at about 550-600 watts depending on your specs. Also you might want to look at what kind of processor you have because you don't want a bottleneck situation.

well..... a GTX260 will run on far less than 500w.

my sig rig with the highly OCed 260 idles @ 155w & fully loaded (a few hours GTA4) barely breaks 300w, you will need a good Amperage on the 12v though.

the recommended specs are highly bloated, but dont get me wrong its better to have more juice than you actually need. ;)

i'd reccomend one of these.....Corsair HX520

Ultra pretty much equals TD's house brand. While not as bad as Rocketfish or Dynex brands from Best Buy, they still tend to leave a lot to be desired.

This would be a much better option,

Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 550W ATX12V V2.2 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply - Power Supplies

or if you think you have to have modular,

i have just fitted a Gainward golden sample GTX 260 and its blown me away , im gaming at 1680x1050 with games running at full with 4AA and 16AF , the card is chewing through them ;0) only Crysis at DX10 can bring this card to its knees but in DX9 with all settings tweaked to Very High and 2AA it sails through at 30fps + (1280x1024)

The EVGA has pretty much the same specs as mine you will be very pleased , be aware its 10.5 inches long ant over an inch thick!!

Im running it on an OCZ 520w PSU , NVidia recommend nothing less than a 550w , ive used riva tuner to monitor my voltage and clocks and its rock solid

if i were you id get a high end 550w AT LEAST
