mac vs pc

About the gui, mouse thing.. what about all the innovations and technologies that have come out that we and apple for that matter, can thank microsoft for.

It doesnt sound like it, but im on microsofts side, i just want to get facts straight.

your pry right, everything in windows 7 im sure microsoft didnt come up with themselves. macs are able to do so much more in a domain environment geez. Microsoft surely got all there ideas from mac

I agree with Smarteyeball... People just bash on Apple and MS based on Bias opinions 95% of the time. Apple software on Windows computers does suck. A bnch of stuff needs to be installed to make the software work, and it slows down your computer. I know that on both of my computers (laptop and desktop), that iTunes and Quick Time run REDICULOUSLY slow. It usually takes iTunes around 10 to 15 seconds to open, and when it doesn open, it runs slow as a bone.

Not really... Microsoft didn't get their style of GUI from Mac, it looks and works totally different than a Mac GUI. Most of the time, other people make the new stuff for computers, and then Mac and Windows jumps on the idea and use it in their own operating systems.

Microsoft has a hge load on their back because so many people use it ,
so they constantly need to make improvements so viruses and other bad software doesn't hurt ones computer. Mac doesn't have such a wide variety of free 3rd party software, and not many people use Mac, so they don't need to pay much attention to updating stuff. So they just experiment with crap all day, and Microsoft acts later.

Windows power user: Yeah but to hell with the one who created it first, microsoft made the GUI most popular holding 95% of the market share (some mac users use window sin mac bootcamp and crossover). Even if mac created the first gui and they were so great and crap and all the hype that media gives praise to apple, then why is MICROSOFT more popular and WAYY more successful than Apple?

First off Apple did not make the first GUI, it was developed for the XEROX Parc.

Apple computers will be faster because the software written for it uses a known set of hardware unlike PC`s which can have many different configurations. That said there are many more PC`s in the world so there will be more of a range of software.

Apples do boot faster on the norm, this is for exactly the same reason. They use less energy and can be slimmer and cooler. This is because most of the components are made by one manufacturer and not several.

However Apple do charge alot for there machines, I am sure I have said in a post already that if you have an Apple or PC this is purly the users own choice.

Before buying any hardware then some thought needs to go into what you want to use it for, what capabilites it has and what software is available for it.

If I could be guaranteed to be able to do everything I do now, but on a mac, AND if it cost relatively the same, i'd be willing to try it. But that's not happening anytime soon.

But if I can't configure and upgrade the hardware as I see fit, then no way.

Yeah, macs could be useful, the reason why they are expensive is because the hardware has to be customly tailored to the software that apple writes, so they can gives good customer support [the wonder why their customer ""satisaction (wink wink)" is so good quality]. Lets just face it, macs are for rich people who dont know computers. and i dont think this thread is gonnna start some sort of war,because no one here is arguing on mac's side.

Mac is just a status symbol of how much cash you can blow. Other than that, Macs are crap and can't do anything as good as Windows... same goes for customization and stability. The only people that have problems with their computers are people who don't know what the heck they are doing and try to mess with something, or people that lack antivirus or firewall.

For 1,000 bux u can get a PC with - 6 gigs or ram i7 processor or a rly good amd cheap one, good dedicate vid card, which will last longer in terms of being compatible and up to standard. You just have to know where to look.

Yes. MACS SUCK compared to this laptop... Dedicated graphics card. great specs, and only $599.
