who actually started the GUI mouse and windows thing?
Apple was the first to make the GUI+Mouse commercially viable with the original machintosh released in 1984.
However Steve Jobs took his inspiration from the Xerox Alto:

Douglas Engelbart from Standford university was the original creator of the mouse, which was unenvied in 1968 and was called the X-Y Position Indicator.
Basically, everything seen in computing today was either 'borrowed' or 'inspired' by someone else.
the whole point why we dont like macs is because of their commercials, and all the bashing of microsoft right?
Since I simply haven't spent enough time using Mac Operating Systems, I refuse to make general statements regarding their usability.
However, I do very much dislike Apples business model and the way Apple products are marketed. Personally I find MS tactics to be a
little less irritating and not many buy a MS product merely because it's the 'in' thing.
The whole argument that Windows just Blue Screens, while Macs 'just work' is tired, boring and erroneous.
The main reasons Windows users experience more Blue Screens is because they have a much larger user base as well as a plethora of available 3rd party applications and devices available to them, compared to the much more restricted Mac based machines. I've heard of plenty of people who's Macs just 'don't' work, while Windows based machines 'just do'. To blame a MS for some 3rd parties error, is a little silly. Windows is far from perfect itself, but quite often the blame is misplaced.
I also don't really like Apple software on Windows ( I hate iTunes with a passion
)
The cost aspect is irrelevant to me as I don't buy pre-built machines and to be fair, even some of the higher end Dells, Hewlett Packards etc PC's, are just as overpriced as most Mac products.
Essentially, an Apple product itself is fine, it's everything else that goes with it that taints my view of Apple.
