Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version

I went out and replaced my 7.1 with a new 5.1 and now everything works. I thought it was the amp on the 7.1 system but maybe it's the Realtek issue but I have AC97.

I received the notice of the 2.74 update to the Realtek driver. Thank you.
I am confused about the version number. My version in device manager is 6.0.1.6873, dated 3/29/2013. This doesn't seem to conform to the numbering scheme in the update notice.
Also, does the regular Windows update include sound card drivers? Perhaps I should just wait for that.

Guess what Brink? New Realtek HD Audio drivers have been made available on the Microsoft Update Catalog site - yup, Microsoft did it again. :D

Edit 6/29: Ah nuts! v7535 is only WHQL for Win10 (do NOT use this version on Vista). Grrrrr.

Three new versions of Realtek HD Audio drivers (v7540, v7543 & v7544) have recently appeared on MS Update Catalog on the afternoon of June 29, 2015. These versions were posted at the same time but v7544 is the latest version. 64bit [x64] editions only though.

I downloaded the most recent version and checked the digital signature CAT files (like HDXRT.CAT) and they're WHQL for Windows from Vista to Ten (unlike the 7535 driver which turned out to be WHQL only for Win10). All 3 newly released versions are WHQL from WinVista to Win10. :D
