Can't access 2nd HDD

With UAC off, Logged in as administrator (hidden account), in windows explorer with hidden and system files/folder viewable, I was able to see 4 folders. I could not access any. I took ownership of all four folders and deleted them.

Used disk clean up to empty recycle bin still have 6.37GB on disk in use? WTF
Can I turn off swap file or delete for this drive. Similar to how you allow the recycle bin space on your drives?

Is your current user account exactly the same name as it was for the previous installation?

Yes my account names are the same, I'm not sure that my OS knows that though.

I've double checked my permissions, or triple checked. Here is a picture.
I messed with the quota tab on properties and added my account as unlimited.
Still can't access hard drive with UAC on.

Drive appears as unavailable in "My Computer", however in "Disk Management" it is showing the correct size with 6.37GB in use. Why would these be different. Please see picture.

If you right click on the drive in Disk Management - do you get any options ?

If so, and you don't mind losing the data, you could delete the drive , then recreate and format a new partition ( quick format as NTFS ).

To be honest if you have the data you need off the drive i would use the FREE utilities from the drive manuf. website to partition and format the drive...follow the directions for creating a bootable CD at their site and boot to the CD and cut your losses.

Finally resolved by using WD diagnostic utility to write zeros to whole disk.
This resulted in a disk that had nothing.
Then I used my windows vista installation disk to format bad drive.
Everything works great thanks for all help from everyone who made suggestions.
Even the little ones helped me thru this.
