Ok. I didn't get notifications of every message. Too bad she doesn't have Vista Enterprise, Pro or Ultimate. She could run her programs in Virtual Pc.

All right, what's LightScribe got to do with this? I'm not going to get into your attempt to revert to XP. I'll leave it to the guys and gals that have been trying to help you in that endeavor.

We've established that PictureIt is not Vista compatible, even running in XP SP2 compatibility mode. Is there something else that won't run?

Hey Wither..

I'm going to put Picture It 2001 and 2002 on the XP. A Lightscribe drive has drivers to color code and or put pictures onto a disk of any kind, just like if you bought a movie disk and you can see the graphics and pictures and well whatever on the disk. Soooo, this machine came with one drive and it had the lightscribe on it. I went to the lightscribe site and apparently they have the drivers there for it. Also, I have the entire Microsoft suite to establish in which I now have a trial to use, its a joke. In the suite I have word, calender, well lots of goodies. I did use a how do I say this...hacker job on that product key and its holding but not for long.

That's what lightscribe is. Listen, I am burdening you all here, dont worry about this, I will figure it out. I am re-vamping this machine so I too am hesitant, I want it to work, not freak out on me.

My Computer

Hey out there...

Here is what I did, I copied all the back up to the D/my folder file I spoke of, it is all there, although drivers are apparently not updated, not sure it will matter. So, if the next step is to put the Windows XP disk in the drive, try to install Windows XP, If indeed successful, then from there go to the device manager and update the drivers from expounding trees if opened, sound good?.... Well then, there ya go, if thats the way to go. I found this for my Lightscribe but will do some more work on it as well,

LightScribe - Downloads - Windows

The way I see it is,..if this Back Up Utility is what its suppose to be then the lightscribe drivers should be in the back-up and its just a matter of (again) updating the driver in device manager. Although the term update driver sounds a bit off since I'm downgrading the OS. One question, if this idea goes south, and I begin jettosoning the XP, I take it the Back-Up Utility program will be able to replace my drivers for Vista? just in case. I'm not sure the drivers would be on the disk they provided for me to re-install Vista if need be. Give me your thoughts gentlemen. For now, those lambs are coming into focus over my head, I must begin my counting sheeps for the night. I will return to see if I have not as of yet been your more painful challenge this week, HA! thank you both..
