Windows won't boot!

It took me to a loading screen: at the top it says:

"Loading Windows Files" They were scrolling by fast until:
'Loading: \windows\system32\drivers\disk.sys' showed up. Then it froze again..."

Bro... I am NOT able to pass this black screen to do ANYTHING else.
New update: I got this message:
"1720 - S.M.A.R.T. Hard Drive detects imminent failure(Failing attr:01).
Please back up the contents of the hard drive and run HDD self test in F10 setup.
Press F1 to ignore..."

After pressing F1 like three times, I decided to hit f10 and run the 'Primary Hard Disk Self Test'. My score:
"Hard Disk Test Fail"

Now what?

My Computer

It over, you need a new hard drive.
I hope that all your important work is backed up. If not tell me, I will give you software to try and save it.

I researched this error and found a couple of people who said this error is a false alarm. I just received this alert:

Manufacturer of the Hard Drive.
Right now, based upon the symptoms and the diagnosis, I feel that you need a new hard drive.

A hard disk test fail means a dead hard disk. A SMART disk test fail that there can be no reprive, almost certainly. That hard disk is dead. We are very sorry that it has come to this, but the only thing to do is to buy a new hard disk. If you would like help, we are very happy to make sure all of this SATA II tosh will work with your computer. We/I will guide you through choosing and installing this new hard disk drive if you would like

All this because I closed my lid before it shut down....
How much do these things usually cost?

My Computer

Just closing the lid before shutdown won't have caused any damage, but repeatedly just pulling the cord could. About $70-100

I don't know what 'pulling the cord' means, but this happened immediately after I closed the lid during a shutdown. My comp was FINE before that and now I need a HARD DRIVE??

TO THE GEEK SQUAD!
lol, thanks alot for all of your time and effort guys, I REALLY appreciate it.

My Computer

It could be a conincidence, the hard drive is gone. How and why is not really important. We will offer any type of help that you need, but we cannot fix the hard drive. It must be replaced.

Hard disk drives do have a limited lifespan. Hard use will decrease the life, as will a faulty hard disk - unlucky, and damaging it by dropping it etc.

How old is this computer. Most hard disk drives are covered by warrantee, but only for the first year. I very much doubt that this will work for you :(
