Windows won't boot!

Yes the same as any other File

Just to add to this, you can back up the programs setup file, or install disk, but you must remember to backup the product key. You cannot back up the Program Files folder, because the crucial registry data will not be copied across, breaking the program.

You can back up everything with software like Macrium Reflect. It takes a pic of your hard drive. Windows 7 has a native hard drive back up, system image.
Here is a bulletin from MS describing how the built in backup works with the higher priced editions of Vista

Back up your programs, system settings, and files

For the third time: You DO understand that I can NOT get into Windows, right? Is there a way I could backup my programs from the black screen?

My Computer

Don't worry there are Operating systems out there for free allowing you to get your Data you will need another HDD and a Blank CD/DVD

Well, I don't need any of the files, all of those are backed up on a separate HD. The last time my comp crashed I took care of that. But what do I do after this?

My Computer

Since you said that your f11 key does not work (is this the key to reach factory settings)? and the repair CD does not work. Go to bios and make sure it is set to boot from Cd. If it is not, change setting and try the boot CD, again.

New development:
I don't know WHY or HOW this happened, but somehow the F8 option appeared to me
(I don't know how to do it again)
Then it took me to a new loading screen: at the top it sais: "Loading Windows Files" but now the files that are loading are shown on the screen. They were scrolling by fast until
"Loading: \windows\system32\drivers\disk.sys" showed up. Then it froze again...

My Computer

Begin boot. As soon as it starts hit f8 quicly and rapidly, thats the way to safe mode.

Didn't work. The same thing happened as described initially:
"the little green progress bar under the "Microsoft Corporation". Then the DVD stops spinning and it sits there FOREVER with a black screen..."

I think the problem is deeper than these options. Something that would boot my comp around this point won't kick in. Do you know what it is? If not, I could try and pull this screen back up and retry the options... Which one next?

My Computer

I know what is wrong its the MBR, (Boot). Lets try this go back to safe mode, choose the safe mode with command prompt. In the command prompt type this

fdisk /mbr

Hopefully that will fix the boot record.

Here is the MS bulletin on the subject.
FDISK /MBR rewrites the Master Boot Record

I can't get past the loading of drivers.

My Computer

OK Driver problem
Go to safe mode and this time select boot logging. It will begin to load the drivers and then stall like always, but this time we should get a written report.

Im off line until tomorow.
