Windows Vista Crash Problems

If SFC found corrupted files, run 3 times. If it says cannot fix all files run it several more times, as I said about 3 or 4. After the 3 scans report back. Dont try to fix, just do test now.

Alright so I ran the sfc /scannow command 3 times in cmd as administrator like you said and I ran 1
sfc /verifyonly, but that was before I knew I should just keep running the regular scan sorry. At the end of each scan cmd reported to me that: "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them."
Than it just goes on to say where the details are stored. Should I run the sfc /scannow several more times or try to repair them?

Just found out some more information, not completely sure if is completely correct but I think it should be. Alright so after running the sfc /scannow command in cmd windows created a notepad desktop file for the scan showing the entire scan process. In the notepad file I can see which files were not repaired by the scan and it appears as if the only file that could not be repaired was windows side bar. There are 6 windows sidebar files that could not be repaired and I think I know why. I never used windows sidebar and saw it as kind of a waste of memory so I deleted it I think. That may be why it can't repair the file since windows sidebar isn't even on my computer anymore.

Actually I just took a look in my control panel and I still have windows sidebar sorry about that I thought I deleted it. So ya I don't know why the sfc can't repair my windows sidebar but I never use it so I'm not sure if it is a real problem.

Lets take a look at the log. I can tell if the errors can cause your problems.

copy the file "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log" to your document folder (otherwise you can't open it) and open it with notepad. Now search for errors. Which errors do you see? Post them.

Side bar are the gadgets, SFC does not fix that.

Alright so I tried going in through my computer to find that file you were talking about but the closest I could get was "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS". There was a CBS notepad file after but like you said I wouldn't be able to open it from there. So I copied the file to my documents, this is the CBS file and opened it to take a look. Right now I have no idea where to look in this file for errors, this file seems to large to be what your talking about. I have another file however, it is the one I mentioned earlier which is on my desktop and it is also a notepad file. The file name is "sfcdetail" and upon opening I can actually scroll through it and see errors. Errors that I found in the sfcdetails file include:

Only other thing in that file is this:

There are a couple of these and they are always below the sidebar errors so they are probably related, maybe?

I think I have SP2 not sure though, if it came in through the windows update than I should have it since I get all my windows updates from there. However, if it is a download I must get myself from the Microsoft site or from somewhere else than I doubt that I have it. Is there anyway to check if I already have SP2?

Alright when I search winver in the start menu search bar I see a winver application. And ya, thanks for taking your time to teach me all this I know it's frustrating having to teach someone everything along the way to find one problem, but really I appreciate all the time and effort you have put into this :D.

Actually no it was just before I updated my drivers that the game issues started. At most the game issues started 5 days before I updated to my new drivers no more, the game was perfectly fine before that though.
