I have a user who has hyperlinks in an Excel 2007 spreadsheet that are linked to a network folder. Sometimes when she uses the hyperlink, documents that have recently been saved to the folder do not show in the Windows Explorer that is launched. She can however launch another Explorer and see all of the documents (with both explorer sessions open side by side). I have spent days searching for the answer so any help will be gratefully recieved.

Tell your user to remove the link and then re-add it. It probably didn't recognize the new files or that when she added the link, it saved whatever was in that folder to the document file.

Removing and replacing the link does work but there are lots of links in the spreadsheet to different folders that are being continually udated, so to keep having to do that would be impratical. Also it is very intermitent. We could click a hyperlink now and not see new documents and then try the same hyperlink in 30 minutes and would see all. Sometimes however the problem exists indefinitely.

Thats just part of computers Phil,
They can be the most amazing machienes one minute; then the next, they are going downhill without any brakes.
You can never tell. I will look into this more.

It would appear that Windows explorer not refreshing the document list is something that Microsoft released a hotfix for in XP and should be resolved with Vista service packs. Our Windows updates are the latest available but the problem still exists. To date I have no solution to the problem.

I think you're right Ben but as someone who has no faith in Microsoft at all I doubt it would do any good.
As for Google searches, trust me I have searched for more variations of Windows explorer refresh than I care to remember. I will continue to try and find a solution though as I need to get this sorted. If I have any luck I'll let you know.
