from my understanding, not sure if i am correct though so anybody correct me if i am wrong.

Graphics is for your desktop GUI like you icons, windows aero, and stuff like that

Gaming Graphics is for your 3D gaming and bussiness graphics, like all your games (half life, Sims 3, Dead space, WOW, Terminator Salvation, NFS, Prototype, and so on), and bussiness applications (MS Office, Adobe).

Yup. Gaming graphics is required for many online games. It includes 3-D items like shaders, a GPU, has its own graphics ram, etc. While some games will work with integrated graphics, most games like Everquest, World of Warcraft, etc. require a 3D graphics card to display the 3D graphics.

Regular graphics is what displays computer desktops, icons, etc.

i read some where that somebody got better scores by upgrading to X64 for X86, i might just do that and try it out. also i am trying to find specs on her laptop and it is a pain in the rear to find them.

Download the PCWizard_portable and put it on the usb drive so you can run this app from there. It should tell you about the components of your wife's lappy. What brand and model of this notebook is?

Just added 1GB to my 2GB memory with Home Premium 32 bit and my score actually dropped from 3.4 to 3.3! Don't understand but I am not a gamer so it does not matter, I guess.

BTW, I did not really see unlike in the past, much of an improvement of any kind by adding that 1GB SDR DDR2 but I suppose that is a subject for another post.

Like I said, I don't understand it. Why would my video card which was already in the system with a 3.4 be scored lower just because I added more memory?

Tried that, same score. Probably is just one of Vista's mysteries. It's no biggie anyway as the drop was minute, but it's still startling that an addition of memory would bring the gaming graphics score down.

no it should not bring down the score by adding memory. but if you add a better video card that will bring your score up to at least 4.8
