Being stuck in a rural part of the UK and with BT too lazy to set up a proper satallite connection for our hamlet, I'm at 28.8kbps at most... more often 3 or 4 kbps. The main cable is actually only about 1/4 mile away on the main road, but it is "too far" according to BT. Maybe I could buy 1/4 mile of cable and attach a splitter, dig my own trench, and supply our community without being caught and arrested? No...? Oh well.

I must admit that I'm monitoring my connection closely, and playing regularly with my router's channels setup to keep it as awake as possible
a lot of new comers around with wifi-N, thus always trying to occupy a channel for me only...
