What is going on with the Forum format?

This is the base for what we will be doing, there is lots to do yet so it's not worth reporting anything.

Three issues with the new forum software and latest theme (i.e., the dark template):

If I subscribe to a thread and receive an automated e-mail notification about a new reply in the thread, clicking the View This Thread button at the bottom of the e-mail automatically opens my unsupported IE9 browser (I use Firefox ESR v52 as my default browser) and throws an The address is not valid error. For example, if I click View This Thread to try to read the latest reply in copiman's thread at Solved - Updates, IE9 launches and the URL in the address bar that generates the error is mhtml:{8F453B87-F99C-43C3-AB9B-F4F2E0729189}mid://00000021/!x-usc:Solved - Updates

It is difficult to see inserted links added in replies because they are the same text font and colour as normal text. Readers do not know there are hyperlinks in the reply unless they hover their mouse over the text for the inserted link and then see the underline appear under the link.

When creating a reply, I can't find any way to prevent URLs (e.g. http: //wu.krelay.de/en/, with no spaces) from automatically resolving into the page title embedded into the HTML by the author (e.g., <title>Search for Windows Updates takes forever? - A possible solution</title>). With the old forum software users could use the advanced options and uncheck this property so that the actual URL, and not the page title, was displayed in the post. I'm not sure, but once you preview or edit your reply the problem seems more prevalent.

BTW, Barman58 (in another thread, granted) already specified that the DM2018 is hte official theme that wil get worked on, and from there all other themes will be developed. So, check and see if your issues still persist on DM2018 - yes, it is not a dark theme, I know - I always prefer dark themes myself. but, if we get the kinks worked out in it, it will be propagated to other themes, including a dark one, that much more quickly.

I see no "Mark all read" buttons anywhere FYI.

Lol - I had the exact same problem.

This board software was too ... innovative for me at first. But now that I have played with it more and more, it really rocks, and I'll adjust to the new features and methodologies of doing things in no time.

I've been noticing numbers in parentheses in the tab for this thread, at first they seemed to match the page count but so far I can only see 4pages and it says 18, the other day it was 10.

In the other forums it usually signified when one of the team created a new chapter of a thread, has there been 17 previous chapters of "What is going on with the Forum format?"

And, will there be any indicators to tell if a member is on-forum, like the orange in the upper right corner for 7F and the green in 10F?

I thought the number in parentheses on the Tab was how many notifications you had.
