not quite...... .....it is in fact 2 cards using a single PCIE slot, this is made obvious by the use of SLI.
the GX2 will out perform a 4870 in almost every situation.... the 4870 may just get the edge at 1920x1200 & above, due to the GX2 being limited by its GDDR3 on a 256bit bus (per GPU)
whereas the 4870 has GDDR5 on a 256bit bus, which allows higher throughput as the res increases....
but the GX2 (fully optimized) is still more powerful, IMO.
