What GPU's run Crysis in the highest detail?

So its my 18th birthday soon and the budget is possibly around the region of £100 - £200.

I've always pushed my GPU's to the limit in gaming, simply because im a sucker for high graphics... However. My GPU at the moment is the Radeon HD 2600 XT 512MB GDDR4 Diamond edition, and sadly - it cant run Crysis extremely well. It can manage Medium graphics... just about...

Yes yes, I know, its a Radeon, quite an old one it seems. Suprisingly, I managed to run Fallout 3 on the highest graphics without sweat - but its a vastly open landscape with grass and tress that dont move... yes - im referring to Oblivion, which I could run on the highest detail, but struggled very badly in nature infested landscape.

SO! this aside...

the specs of my computer are

6gig of Corsair DDR3 RAM
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 clocked at 3.2ghz (yes I will be clocking it to 3.6)
Antec 900 gaming case (if thats any cooling consolation)
ASUS P5K3 Deluxe motherboard
750W Power Socket of some sort
Artic Freezer fan

Now - ive been looking at the 9800 GX2. It is atleast twice as good as the:

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+

etc.
_______________

Although I may sound as if im not asking for a lot (which I am xD) - any opinions about GPU's, links etc to graphcis cards that can run Crysis in Very high with 1280 x 1024 resolution, fire away!

im deeply considering the 9800 GX2.

Cerussatus out.

thanks in advance!

P.s. http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/graphics_cards_buy_now_uk.html - look at the 9800 GX2 in comparison to others, its quite a lot.

Cerussatus, I currently have the 9800 GTX+, but I bought it 3 months ago and if I would buy a new card at this moment, I'd definitedly go for a GTX 260... And if you DO go for the 9800, make sure you get/have an SLI motherboard so it will last longer:) Nevertheless, the 9800 GTX+ is a very very good card, runs silent and cool and very overclockable.. Hope all our comments helped you:p

I want a GPU that can match my PC - since it is ... quite good :o

Specs:

ASUS P5K3 Deluxe motherboard - Wifi Edition
6 gig of Corsair DDR3 1333Mhz DHX memory (heat synced)
750W power supply of some sort
Arctic cooling fan - 2800 rpm (max)
Intel Q6600 core 2 Quad - 3.2ghz OC (12.8ghz total) - ill clock it to 3.6 when I can be assed
Antec 900 Gaming Case
__________________________________

if the 9800 GTX+ can run Crysis in VERY HIGH detail, I think ill chomp one of those up for £99.

otherwise, Ill try and hunt down the 260 - since almost everyone has voted the 260 much better than the GX2

also read that 2 x 8800 would be good - but thats a serious downgrade from the technology out at the moment.

but even still - does the 9800 GTX+ run Crysis in Very High detail? preferably on a 1280 x 1024 monitor.

A simple yes or no will make me a happy bunny!(then again. i'd be dissapointed if its no) :p

It's not that the 260 is better, the GX2 is just way out of your price range... And it would indeed, in my eyes be quite foolish to buy two 8800GTs, if you can buy one 9800GTX+ for less and then buy another one when it's not coping for you anymore...

I just checked that motherboard and since it's an Intel chipset, you should definitedly go for the 4870 (it will run crysis at very high), because Intel chipsets only run crossfire, NO SLI..

That is a nice configuration indeed, must be a pain to be stuck with such a bad GPU...:p (I have the exact opposite..:()

Cheers,

Show us the rig when you have the new card in it in the SHOW US YOUR RIG sticky!;)
