What a night!!!

Hi Chris,

Don't worry about that. We've all had problems of one sort or another and tried umpteen ways to fix them and have become so engrossed in trying to solve the problem that we overlook the obvious. This reminds me of the trouble-shooting instructions of many kitchen appliances, particularly washing machines: If the machine is not working, check that you have plugged it in and switched it on. Sometimes, we can get so blinkered that we cannot see the obvious, and require someone to come in from the outside and inform us.

Hi guy's,

Exactly Dwarf, I was indeed blinkered, and yet I knew damn well that my keyboard was to blame, and in answer to Lordbob's question about that, well I have a G15 Keyboard and as I put the XP drive in and tried to boot, the system did not recognize the G15, it lights up normally, but as it was booting there was no response from the keyboard, so I suddenly realise that if I put an ordinary keyboard in (luckily I still have two I think) it was fine because on being told to press any key it picked it up and then loaded the files for me to then decide what to do.

Only problem I have is that although you guys have told me what to do, I do not have a printer so this makes my task even harder to do as I need to handwrite it down or go from memory and believe me, trusting in my memory is not wise at all

No I don't mean I won't stay here, of course I will, I just felt embarrassed thats all

Afterall, me on a forum other than my own having posted more than 300 posts is some achievement for me, and I want to keep going, not for the sake of number of posts though, but for the pure and simple fact that I love this place and the people who frequent it!!!

Sometimes in a situation like this I wonder if keyboards like the G15 are wise to purchase especially if like me you tend to chuck things out (fortunately I did'nt throw my old keyboard away, even though I spilt sugary tea all over it once, thankfully the important keys still work LOL

Not sure if your joking or there are such things, but I do have a small tea towel that I lay over it when its off, but other than that its as you were.

No no, no offense taken, why did you say that mate? I had just never heard of them thats all, but I can see what you mean, makes it pretty pointless does'nt it if they break and tear after awhile.

Still spilling the tea on it won't happen with the G15 (heaven forbid, if that happened I'd go jump in the River up the road and get taken out into the Sea, to drown my sorrows)

They are made out of a cheap plastic, and with heat and dry air, they dry up and crack, just like my skin in the winter. (except they dont bleed....)
