I've been using the same e-mail provider for at least 20 years. I like its spam controls and it doesn't save e-mails to my hard disk. It works fine in Firefox and the variations on Firefox. Guess what- I just tried it again in Opera and it works. Go figure that would happen after I make that remark.

The best option is mypal or Serpent from roytam for Vanilla vista (Both based in Firefox 68)...
Well we already knew that you are not a Firefox lover, but that post offers further proof. As mentioned in post #4, MyPal is no longer being developed. Serpent 52 from roytam1 is essentially a portable build of Basilisk from Moonchild Productions with added support for XP/Vista. Like Pale Moon 28 and 29, Basilisk is based on Moonchild’s UXP Platform, which in turn is based on Firefox 52. (The other Serpent build is a long story.)

Since virtually no one here is actually interested in browsers For Vista Extended Kernel, I should point out that MSFN has a subforum Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes with various threads about Extreme Explorer 360, roytam1’s browser builds, etc.

To save EMails you need to have your account configured in POP3, the mails are saved in the client side, IMAP saves them on the server

Firefox based browsers run slower on everybody’s computer. I have discovered that there is actually life after Vista! In this afterlife, I have found that there is really no reason to use Firefox unless you hope to thwart Google’s growing monopoly power. However, in this David vs. Goliath struggle, I find it difficult to cheer for a browser that is as awful as Firefox has become. I therefore give my support to Microsoft Edge, even though it is just another Chromium fork now. (But I’m on my iPhone at this particular moment, so not exactly Microsoft’s strongest supporter these days.)

I actually use Microsoft Edge, im using it right now to say this and i use it in my phone algong with the Microsoft Launcher for android and the Phone app in windows 10 and android, i love it, and it runs faster than Brave, Opera and Chrome in my experience (Speedometer 2.0 Scores: Chrome, Opera, Brave: 40 Firefox: 37 Edge: 50)

In case there is confusion, the extended kernel for Vista is not a Microsoft product: it is a hack that is officially supported by nothing and will never be anything more. It has been nearly six years since the Chromium Project wanted installers that worked on Vista, so you just might have to settle for a portable browser. For those who want to install the latest mainstream browsers, the obvious and best solution is to run Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 like most of the world’s PC users.

Even for those diehards who are still running plain vanilla Vista and prefer Firefox-based browsers, the only options that are still being updated in any degree are the portable browser builds from roytam1 of MSFN, of which Serpent 52 is perhaps the best. (MyPal developer feodor2 was forced to stop after Moonchild Productions complained about Mozilla Public License violations.) To be sure, yet another developer once created an installer for roytam1’s browsers, but I uploaded that installer to VirusTotal on more than one occasion and the results were rather scary.

In conclusion: For those who dislike portable browsers, Vista is clearly the wrong OS now and the extended kernel does not change that. For those who want to communicate with people who are actually using the extended kernel, this is clearly the wrong forum. One last thing: 2 GB RAM is insufficient for Vista x64. Good luck!

Well... the laptop supports 2GB max. so i cannot upgrade, but it works fine, i just use it to edit documents and other "school" aplications, i now running Slimjet that can install Chromium 92 without complaining but i wanted something more recent, but looking at what you said, im going to stick to it, at least Slimjet is not discontinued and has updates from time to time, maybe in some time an upgrade to Chrome 93 or better
Looks like with the extended kernel now we can use the installer for chrome and firefox browsers so its way better than just a hack.

Yes, the developer has made further improvements recently, so this 8-month-old thread is hardly worth reading now. It has been reported at MSFN that Chrome can be installed (not limited to a portable version), that Chrome extensions such as uBlock Origin are now supported, and even that Microsoft Edge works now. @Joadix100 might be interested, if he hasn’t already updated his extended kernel to the latest version.

I don't know which version in the catalog I would use but I don't think the Azure one would work. You might ask in the link provided by Vistaar where the person said Edge would run. You could also troubleshoot the problem using the guidelines here- [Fixed] There Is A Problem With This Windows Installer Package
