Used to be able to stop this service

Sup guys, im new to the forum so hello to all!

basically what brings me here is that
i used to be able to stop a service
witch was my norton internet security.
the reason why i would stop it, was
so i can run a software called pro tools le
so it can run efficiently, etc etc.

i recently updated my anti software program cause
it said there was an update. After that update,
now for some reason i cant stop the service?

when i open up my task manager, i click on services
then i scroll down to find the service i want to stop
(norton internet security)
once i click it, it doesnt say stop or restart

i used to be able to stop it now its not letting me at all
the start up type on this service is automatic.

when i right click on the service and click properties
i get a new window, BUT, i cant seem to change anything? :(

i am the only user on this laptop.

if theres anyway you can help me please do, AND THANK YOU.

I would try sc.exe from an Administrator command prompt.

In the command prompt type
sc --help

for the command line switches.

It should allow you to stop start and get status of services. In Task Manager look up your service to get the real name. Example, Sandboxie service is "sbiesvc"

i mean i think so. i chatted with one of the norton internet security analyst
and he told me to just disable two sections and that will stop the norton program in my computer, but when i look at the service its still running...

again, i used to be able to open the services
and stop this program. now i cant
it says "Access denied"

Please help and thank you.

I gave you a link to Disable Norton Internet Security, did you use it ?

That link is not from any " john doe ". It is from Norton.
