Haha Hexmaniac, it was the simplest thing that brought the solution, I indeed just had to open the setup.exe manually. Could've thought of that myself:s:p
Although the rest probably helped too. So, problem solved!

Thanks to all you guys, Forum rules;)

Greetings,

(anyone play COD2 online?:p)

I haven't even installed it on this machine but I was thinking of doing so. What server do you play on? I always liked capture the flag in COD2, and was thinking the other day that i needed to put it on this machine and give it a whirl again. Tell me what server, (also what update level you have), what screen name and nexyt week I'll browse by and put a couple of Lee Enfield rounds through your eyesocket lol. I'm wondering if anyone has modded any of the COD maps for COD4. LOL we were kidding one day about wanting Breaucort (however it's spelled lol) for COD4. Now THAT would be fun.

Amplid,

Have you already tried reinstalling it, then see if it would uninstall smoothly from Programs and Features?

Shawn

Shawn, I had a similar problem with COD (the first version) on my old computer. Apparently I never got it "uninstalled" and yet it would not let me reinstall it. Remember that uninstall tool I sent you? Think that would help Amplid? LOL Or is it something that folks like he and I should leave alone? It helped with my Halo problem (along the same lines as he is experiencing with COD) on this computer though.......... just a thought.

Hey you may not know me but i have the same problem with you whoever has the problem, i tried ununstalling it and reinstalling but just keeps on saying play single player or multi player and when i click on either one of them it does nothing same with the unstall thing  and its not in my programs thing sooo can someone really help me i don't wanna regester thing like brink said. And one more thing! under my cod4 game where i put it in to launch theres files there and i havent EVEN reinstalled it so maybe should i delete them?

My Computer

Amplid,

The only thing I can think of is that there is a left over registry entry that is making the DVD still think it is installed when it is not.

You can go to the registry and click on Edit and Find on the toolbar. Type in Call of Duty or Activision and click Find Next. Right click on the key (folder in the left pane) for anything that it finds related to Call of Duty and click Delete, then click on Edit and Find Next. Repeat this until it does not find anything else on Activision and Call of Duty and is finished.

As long as you only delete items that have Call of Duty in it, you will be ok.

Here are screenshots to help.
