@ Josh,

I'm sorry to hear that, but if you download fewer movies and audios, maybe you can still spend as much time with us as before. LOL! Anyway, I hope the decrease isn't that much - you're a valuable asset to this Forum and any loss is a loss to everyone here and people who haven't ever posted yet but will not have the benefit of your replies.

Windows 7 Release Candidate

Sorry, Windows 7 Release Candidate (RC) downloads are no longer available.

Brought to you by the Springboard Series, a 90-day trial is now available to help you test and evaluate the final, released to manufacturing (RTM) version of Windows 7 Enterprise. Designed specifically for IT professionals, this 90-day trial is offered in English, Spanish, French, German, and Japanese.
The rest of the page is Here.

To be honest, I would just buy a copy, it's a great OS, upgraded from Vista Business to Seven Pro, really fast and smooth. I plan to put it on my netbook in late December when the warranty on it runs out. ;)

I think when I post this I will have broken the 700 post mark - not quite half way to the Gold Member badge but not bad for only two months here. Not as impressive as many others here, but I haven't been here all that long yet - and I'm happy at the progress. So, that' a good thing for today and worth a bit of celebrating later (plus it will be the weekend too).

And I got about half of the chores I mentioned yesterday done, so I have to work on the rest today (and more have been added - but I won't bore you with them).

Thanks! Somehow, it seems like I've been here much longer than just shy of 2 months. At my last forum I was there for almost 1 year to the day and I had over 9700 posts when I finally got fed up with the bickering there (and some other issues too) - so I'm not going as fast here but they had (and still have as I drop in to take a peek now and then) considerably more volume even if this is otherwise a MUCH superior forum in just about every way imaginable). They didn't use rep, but they did value posting volume and they marked every thread with "correct answers" which was also highly valued (and the cause of many problems as people fought to get credited for the correct answer instead of helping each other to solve the OPs problem).

As far as the rep goes, I simply submit the best posts I can do (even if I have to research one for an hour or more - I'm here to learn as well as help) and am assisted by a 50-page Word document of pre-drafted responses I made over time which I can copy and paste (and then, of course, edit and enhance to fit the circumstances) to make things faster, provide more detailed and accurate information with many reference links, and say it in a way that has been edited umpteen times and that I know has worked and been understood dozens or even hundreds of times before (and is often well-received). I also try to be nice, friendly, patient, and cover all the bases - and reply as soon as I can in threads where I'm involved. Sometimes, my posts can be quite long (I've received both positive and negative feedback on that - and believe both are correct but do what I think is right for the situation however it turns out), but I've seen times where I included a step I almost omitted because I thought it wouldn't likely help and it turned out to be the suggestion that actually worked - often to my surprise. That and posting frequently seems to work.

I don't worry about the rep (though I did quite a bit more until Guru) - I trust the system to work and that I will get it if warranted (from the poster or from someone else who sees it or sometimes both) and won't if it isn't deserved or isn't good enough for the level of rep value a particular member possesses even if they otherwise would if they could control the awarded rep (but I fully understand and agree with why that isn't policy). Some comes for a specific post, some comes for "overall contributions." Sometimes I'm surprised by it and sometimes I'm disappointed a thread I worked particularly hard on got none - but that's how it goes. I will admit that I thoroughly enjoy receiving it (and giving it when I see something or someone deserving) - even if only 1 point from a newbie I was able to help - especially if it was a tough one (and to be honest, those can sometimes make me feel better than 150 from someone who's maxed out).

Anyway, thanks again. And that brought out yet another long post - but is anyone really all that surprised? LOL!

Thanks! Somehow, it seems like I've been here much longer than just shy of 2 months. Very nice post. I think it takes a little while to fully understand how amazing this forum is compared to any other.
