Yes had me stumped as well. The picture of me is the only one there is, taken after my fathers funeral so not my normal cherry self. Had a beard for about 20 years from when I was in the navy. (I was a weapons mechanic)

Did you work on the big guns (like the 16's on a battleship) or was it more small arms (like M-16's) - or was it any type of gun? I was never in the service - I missed the Vietnam draft by only a couple of months (and that was scary). In any event, I don't think I'd have passed the physical due to my breathing problems even back then (though nowhere near as bad as now - then I could still play sports and earn my black belts - but I couldn't run more than 1/4 mile without absolutely needing to stop for rest). As you can probably surmise from my avatar, I did want to be in the military (though more like it was in WWII than in Vietnam).

Oh, and happy birthday VF. I sincerely wish I'd been here for the first (or even prior to the first). If only I'd know such a great forum existed earlier. I've used many of the Tutorials over the years, but never checked out the forum and I really wish I had. I've tried quite a few and posted heavily in one and none were anywhere near a good and friendly and satisfying and pleasant and rewarding as this one. I only wish there was more volume so we could keep busy helping people - though I sometimes spend time researching questions that have had no replies to see if I can come up with something and that's fun and a great learning experience as well and sometimes i even find an option worthy of posting.

Yeah, All weapons but they would be out of date now.Still kill you though it doesn't make much difference how old it is. Are you a good at using a keyboard mate your posts are a read. I'm only a year younger than you. I am a bit of a hunter pecker at typing so I tend to miss things and have to edit or add.

When using a full-size ergonomic keyboard (which I haven't in some time so I'm probably slower now), I could type about 90 WPM. On my laptop, where the keys are closer together, my speed drops to about 60 WPM (I checked online just a few weeks ago just to see if had improved but it hadn't - seems that's my limit). And despite that, I still end up editing and re-editing for format, typos (I still misspell words or reverse letters or use you're instead of your and the like), clarification, additional information, deleting info posted while I was drafting my own reply, and so on.

I also have a 50 page Word document of pre-drafted responses to commonly asked questions and so sometimes I merely need to find the right section, copy and paste, and then edit a bit to match the specific situation - so I'm not actually typing as much as you see posted in some cases.

I'm very much into firearms myself and have quite a few - but discussing that is against forum rules so that's all I'll say about that here (perhaps more privately).

Today, been thinking about what I'm going to do once i leave school; 2 year college course/apprenticeship, Prospects College/Southend Airport.
Going up there tonight to have a look around,, and maybe even apply for the course.

Also, was looking at the Sunbeam Lightbus last night, and found that it was discontinued, is there anything similar out there?
Looking for something to control fan speed, also say that the Sunbeam would control the brightness of cold cathodes too....

Looks nice, 5 fans, 5 temperature zones, external touch screen, cheapest I can find it is about £50.
Just wondering if it can control my CCFL's...

Bootsale, played on Andromada Sumo for a while, won a couple of rounds so yeah, all good.

Went fishing Friday morning, came home and slept to catch up on some much needed zzzzzzz's. Since then, I have felt like crap. Felt really bad on Friday night, better yesterday, and even better today, but still not quite right.

Ugh... Last night was crazy. I had planned on going to a birthday party for my friend, but my grandma asked me if I would be willing to watch her friends grandchildren for a couple of hours or so... Being the loving and considerate grandson that I am, lol, I said yes. So I went and met the kids and their grandparents, they left, and I waited for the replacement. I went to the party, and had way to many drinks, and almost broke my heel somehow. Sad thing is, when I came home this morning, my grandpa told me that the grandfather of those children had tried to walk home from the party they were at (we live on a golf course, his house was a couple doors down).. and he slipped hit his head and fell into a nearby pond and drowned. Makes me wanna stop drinking and appreciate life more.

Sorry to hear about that Chase. It sounds like you may have a bit more babysitting in the near future as the adults deal with the funeral and such things. Did you know him - I mean KNOW him - or did you just basically politely greet each other on the rare occasions you met?

Today I posted quite a bit in the forums - and got myself stuck in several situations where I'm not sure where to go next because once all the facts were revealed (and in some cases, that has yet to occur) they turned out considerably more complex than they appeared based on the initial posts. I have about six of those situations right now (not all from today) and I'm furiously trying to research the issues to come up with something better than drastic and/or generic answers. Unfortunately, nobody else is posting to these threads to assist - I guess they assume since I've posted it's "my" thread when I would more than welcome other suggestions or alternatives or options or possibilities or things to consider or maybe even a solution or answer from others. Oh well, I suppose I'll eventually think of something or I'll resign from the thread and hope someone else see at least that and pick up the ball.
