Hi,

The answer is: - from 32-bit and 64-bit Windows: frequently asked questions

If you want to move from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or vice versa, you'll need to back up your files and choose the Custom option during Windows 7 installation. Then, you'll need to restore your files and reinstall your programs. For more information about performing a custom installation, Installing and reinstalling Windows 7

Awesome, thanks mate :)
Will be upgrading my system shortly.

While visiting my sister with a girlfriend we decided to flick through the sky channels and stumbled onto a repeat of a repeat of an English football game.
My girlfriend then asked me to explain English football, I think I got it right.

It would appear the "adult" version of the game is played with 2 teams of overpaid prema donnas pulling the shirts, holding or tripping their opponents mixed with a lot of diving and other feeble attempts at acting, though some would make better actors than football players as they seem to put more effort into it.At times I thought I was watching a game of Rugby.
Hugging and feeling up the bottoms of their team mates makes you think you are watching some sort of gay pickup game. The American football we watched was no different in this regard.
The object of the game appears to be to see who can get away with the most fouls or do the best acting job to get a penalty which normally results in an easy goal.
This is played out over 90 minutes with about 15 minutes of actual football.
Arguing with the sometimes appearing one eyed officials appears to be normal, although we never see it in children's games, diving is not seen either, but the odd foot trip is.
We decided to go watch an under 18's girls game so we could see a good game.
Also we would give the sky multi repeat network a miss, we thought it was not worth paying for, and we were glad we never had.
We would never pay to go to an English football game unless we needed a good laugh and a doctor chose to recommended it.

Today I had my 2 hour long Astronomy GCSE Paper.
Well.
Let's put it this way, I had no clue for the answers on the questions, most of them really.

One of my actual answers--

How did *some guys name* measure the circumference of the earth? You may use diagrams to explain.

Part 1- Well, there was many theories about this, but the guy didn't believe them, so he decided to measure it himself to make sure and maybe even prove the other guys wrong. After, he found that it was a waste of time because his measurement was close to what the other guys said.

Part 2- The guy started at one place in the Desert, near the Pyramids with an infinite long tape measure, this way he could get an accurate measurement, to an inch to be exact. He started at one place with his infinite long tape measure and started to walk round the earth. He hit seas, so he hired a boat to sail across with his infinite tape measure. He continued across land and sea hiring boats and cars where he could to speed up his expedition until he got back to where he started. When he returned to the Pyramids with his infinite tape measure trailing behind him he found the other end. He tugged a little on either end then put the 2 pieces together. He had a measurement! He ran to his shack to grab the piece of paper that the other measurements was on. His family jumped for joy when they saw of his return, meanwhile, he was outside comparing the distances. His result was pretty close to the other one!

Diagram- I drew a circle for the earth, then drew some 'land' on there, I then drew a line across the 'land' and into the sea leading to a circle, representing the boat. Then I drew a dotted line from the boat across to another piece of 'land' to show where he was going, this line was extended to the edge of the circle.

After the exam I found out that the guy used some sticks then multiplied it by 50 or something, this was back ages ago, like ages, like 1000's of years ago! No cars! I did not know this was the answer, I mean, I didn't even know what the question meant! And, the thing is, I can't leave the question blank, I gotta put something for it!

I mean, if I make the examiner laugh, I should get some marks, right?!
While I was writing that answer I was actually Loling to myself, my mates Lol'd even more when I told them!

Tomorrow I have a Maths Higher calc, a Maths Foundation calc and an Graphics exam, gonna be a looong day.

A BIG round of applause goes to richc46 for helping my fix my sons computer with XP on it..
They got a backdoor virus and was working with Rich behind the scenes.
To make a long story short...After I spent 10 hours going back and forth with Rich in getting things cleaned and virus removed Rich pointed me to another forum where the member gave me a link to make hidden programs visible and working again.

I need to spread my reps around but wanted to THANK RICH and let him know what a great person and asset he is to this forum.

As far as the rep, the thought is as good as the deed. Since you cannot rep the same person twice in a row, you got that spread it around notice.

Greek philosopher measured the Earth's circumference.

Local well at noon, no shadow.

A well, I think it was, 400 miles south of his home, had a shadow at noon. He had talked to a traveler who mention this oddity, that well had a shadow. Their local well no shadow at noon.

He measured how much the sun's angle was at the 400 mile away well, and after some calculations... came up with a figure very close to the actual amount.

If I remember correctly, over 90 percent correct.

Of Mice and Men was easy when I done it, you just have to choose the right question and know some key quotes from the book, that's what the examiner is looking for when they are marking it. At my school we had this thing called PEEL, meaning Point, Evidence, Explain then Link. As long as you followed that you would be cool.

I take it your doing the higher Paper as from what I can remember, Jeckyll and Hyde was in the Higher spec when I was in year 10, I was in foundation.

Are you doing the poems too?

Good luck anyways :)

Ahhh glad it went well mate :)

Well, 2 maths exams today.
Math Modular Higher and Maths Linear Foundation.
I was against taking the Foundation exam, but actually, I'm glad I took it. I really, really messed up the Higher paper, I'm just hoping I'm able to bump the marks, and overall grade including them UMS scores things, back up with the Foundation paper.

That was a bad exam. I don't know what happened, I just went blank.

Today I finally got round to dual booting Windows 7 with BackTrack 4 R2 :)

I successfully cracked my WEP key in 20 minutes and I'm going to test it on WPA2-PSK tomorrow

Nice!
Also, not sure cracking you're WEP key is good, I remember I was 'locked out' of my own network. I spent half an hour trying to crack the code, then I realised that our Virgin router has this wireless association button thing, I just had to set my netbook to connect, then press this button on the router and it connected.

Couple of days ago I bought Minecraft. It's been pretty good so far. Found a few good servers, also turns out that Andromada has a Minecraft server too, so have been on that alot too! I'm also hoping I can be white-listed onto the Deadmau5 server, worth a try!

After lots of thinking and stuff, I've decided to go with the ITEC apprenticeship, because the Aero app. wasn't what I and my parents thought it was; There's an apprenticeship, then there's a PLA - A Program Led Apprenticeship. This wouldn't take me where I would have liked to go and it wouldn't have been a proper apprenticeship.

So -- I've emailed ITEC as I'm not quite sure how to say that I'm an apprentice in my covering letter to the places I'm going to apply for, which is schools on the Island. Once I've done that I can write the letters and send them off!

I wasn't locked out, I just fancied doing a bit of Pen-testing. WEP is scarily easy to crack. If our nearest neighbour wasn't 100m away then I'd upgrade to WPA2-PSK but there's not much point really - I think I'd notice someone sat in the garden with a laptop :p

Unlucky mate, that aerospace apprenticeship sounded pretty cool. But I'm sure any of the others will still be good :)

After all the faf of dual booting Windows 7 with BackTrack I found that there's a new version that you have to do a hard upgrade for - so I had to do it all again! I'm now running Windows 7 with BackTrack 5 :)
