Weeelll...
This week I'm having so much luck...
I got my results back from my exams and I got a C for English and a C for maths. I'm really happy with that, especially the maths grade since I got a U and managed to resit the exam.
I also got myself a new keyboard/mouse! Was really cheap and only one left, so yeah, it's Trust brand, wireless too.
I also managed to install Office since I was having problems with it, and I'm working on getting myself a copy of Protoshop CS5, I found out that it is installed on a few machines at my school, so on Monday I'm gunna ask our network manager for a copy

Which version of Office did you install, Daniel? Do you use all the programs or just some of them? I have Office 2007 Enterprise which included just about everything - but 2010 doesn't offer that option anymore as far as I can tell (so if you want that, you get the Pro edition and buy all the other programs separately - MUCH more expensive so I won't be upgrading anytime soon). Glad to hear you got it installed properly - I've never had troubles myself, but I've helped a lot of people who did.

I have Photoshop CS2 (yes, it's old and support for it has expired but I don't use it enough to pay for an upgrade). I'll be surprised if the network folks let you install CS5 from their disks (unless they have an unlimited license) and I'm not sure they're technically permitted to do so, but good luck. If they let you borrow the disks and give you their activation codes, I suppose it's their issue and not yours - but it may affect your ability to upgrade later (you may need a full install version to do so).

BTW, congrats on the tests. Are you now done with them or are there more to come?

Thank you all for your great support! I am a lot better now, and I have also managed to cut some less essential stuff out of my timetable now (room to add more!) and I am caught up. Thank you again for all of your excellent support! Hope everyone else is also a lot better, and stays better!

Happy birthday (one day early - since I'll otherwise forget), BlueDancer!

Things are a bit slower than I'd like here - and it's a challenge to be able to post (for a variety of reasons) - but otherwise, things seem fine at VF. With help from quite a few, we've cleared or made good progress on quite a few open threads.

I'm doing a bit better health-wise, and hope that continues (but things are always better for me at this time of day, so it's a little early to ascertain how the rest of the day/week will turn out - but I'm optimistic at the moment).

We're getting freezing rain right now - which I hate more than most of the other winter options because it means scraping ice off the windows of the car that's outside and a treacherous drive (even just the driveway) as ice is worse by far than snow. I hope it doesn't accumulate much. My wife has a long commute and I don't like her driving in these conditions.

Plus two new NCIS episodes from last night to look forward to at some point (most likely today, but that depends how things go here and for me in general).

Thank you for the birthday wishes. Got family and friends over later. I think I enjoy birthdays more now than when I was a kid. Just so long as there are no jokes about being over the hill I’ll be fine.

Hope the weather lets up a bit for you.
I don’t mind the snow but when it begins to melt it’s not so good. We had quite a bit of it this winter which is quite unusual for here.

Bit late, but happy birthday!!

Got the copy of PhotoShop, and also 2D Design which we use alot on construction/graphics.
Today I've been looking at tableting my netbook; Acer Aspire One 751h, it looks pretty easy to do, but I can't find any touchscreen kits in 11.6 inch size. I was looking at one like the iPhone uses, resistive I think.
Depending on how much this will cost, I think I'll do it, it'll be an interesting project to do in my spare time too, and it'll help me at school since I will be able to use it for real notes like written notes, not typed.

Today I got a new chair! A nice ergonomic one. Actually it is about 20 years old, but better than my old one, which was wooden, with an excruciatingly low backrest, etc. etc. No more backache! The only (slight) downside is that the chair and food were the ONLY two things to keep me away from the computer. Meal times are together, set in stone, and not an issue. I can now be more productive, squeezing more hours into the day, with no getting up and walking around Sort of good

So far, my searching has found me this, for 11.6" screens, though it says that it is solderless, it doesn't say anything about it being fully compatible with my netbook.
Also, from what I've read, the touchscreen kits generally use the internal webcam plug, then split off into a hub with one port for the touchscreen kit, and 3 more for future hax/mods, I can see me making my external bluetooth dongle, internal bluetooth, like the netbook should have...

The only problem I have seen so far is how i'm going to route the actual cable for the touchscreen layer through the netbook screen hinge. Unless I buy some thinner cable and use that instead of that is supplied...
I've also got a really detailed service guide, attached if anyone's interested

thats actually really fascinating, i knew you could get touch screen panels for your desktop but no idea you could get it for your netbook/laptop, i think it would be quite difficult to sort out the cabling issue, whoever thought of this was a genius, but it needs refining lol, nice find Smurfyy

I'm hoping to add the touchscreen then flip the screen around. I don't think i will be able to do this though as looking at the pictures on the service guide I posted, the lcd cable it pretty short :huh:
But still, if I can get a touch panel on here, it's be pretty cool

Last night,
I set up a SA:MP server on my pc, just testing and stuff, today I'm hoping to copy the complete folder and put it onto our home server, HP ProLient ML350 G4, so it should be running alot faster, I had some problems with the port forwarding on our router, since I'm using port 7788 I had to set the range from 7787 to 7789, I could not work this out, took me three hours lmao..
Nah, it's workin tho It it for testing btw, I'm working on getting a better gamemode than what actually comes with it

Today I have a whole day of Graphic Products :/
