i often rep ppl who havnt helped me personally, if i see a post with great info & its helped or solved that thread i tip their scales, & i state why they were repped, this in turn inspires ppl to help others

when a rep system gets abused it tuns everything sour staff then have to step in & warn ppl about rep abuse, this in turn gives everyone cold feet & no reps no one, this then annoys ppl who are consistent contributors & makes them feel their work is not appreciated....& this situation kills forums

& we don't want that do we ladies & gents

so IMO the bottom line is feel free to rep worthy posts, even if you end up repping 10 ppl in a day for great works that's fine....... just don't buddy rep, or rep someone for nothing other than the hope they might rep you back.

It was just my rather odd humor coming through, without meaning to go off topic, I'll explain briefly, I am a huge Laurel and Hardy fan and I remember laurel saying that in one of their films to a policeman, the one where they were trying to get a Piano delivered up a massive flight of steps lol

I agree. The rep is great to have on your profile and gives weight to what you say on the forum but, the friendship system means more to me than rep points. If you like what I say or do, then be my friend.:D

Hi Swarfega,

If you change the forum skin to Vista x64 Forums, you will find a Donate tab at the top of the page. I haven't checked the other skins, but it certainly isn't present on the skin that I use, Vista x64 net v3 Wide. Come to think of it, the link to Windows7 appears in the same place on this skin as Donate appears on the other. Here are images from the top of the page for each of the skins mentioned:

Sorry about that, John. However, I have had a look through the skins to see if either Donate or Windows7 appears at the top of the page. Would it be possible to include links for both of these on each skin? At the moment, it is either one or the other (mainly Windows7), but on this skin Vista x64 net neither appear.

Through a series of sheer flukes, I found a link for donations in a thread that was asking for help in providing funds, to get dmex a revamped and upgraded system. I managed to get a donation to the Vista Forum, and have been duly rewarded with the 'gong',.......Supporter.

I tasked a Sepoy Scouting Party to try and find the thread, and a post I sent suggesting that a DONATION LINK is included in FAQ>vBulletin>Board FAQ.

Regrettably, the Sepoys have returned empty handed, and for their failings, I have reduced their rations for tomorrow, to roti and chilli dahl.




Sahib, I respectfully suggest that to the current List at Board FAQ, a link is provided with the addition of the following;

Admittedly, dmex did reply to my post with a 'will do', but I guess that since he is kept so busy sorting out all and sundry problems, this is on the lower end of his priorities.
